Link to specific post not working

Hi, I'm trying to put a link to a specific post (the follow up of a storefront) at the end of one post before it (so that one can click and jump directly to the follow up).

I use the code [post=xxxxxxx]...[/post], where xxxxxxx is the no. of the destination post which I can see by clicking "quote" and looking at the URL.

The link works "yes&no", meaning that it actually jumps... but it jumps to the very start of the thread!

Can you help me?

I don't know how to use whatever method you are trying to use, but it sounds more complicated than the way I use.

Look at the upper left of this post, there is a little image (it will be orange if the post hasn't been read before, and gray if it has). It looks like a piece of paper, it is shaped like a box. Right click that and click 'Copy Link Location'. Once you click paste you have a link that leads to that specific post.

I'd just use the URL tags as opposed to the post tags, it seems easier to use to me (no need to find post #'s).

Look at the upper left of this post, there is a little image (it will be orange if the post hasn't been read before, and gray if it has). It looks like a piece of paper, it is shaped like a box. Right click that and click 'Copy Link Location'. Once you click paste you have a link that leads to that specific post.

It generates "http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?p=1580424", however it should probably be "http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?p=1580424#p1580424". Probably a (minor) bug.

In the mean time, the little (or ) at the top of a post (just before the "by @@NAME@@") gives a direct link to the post (right click and copy link location).
