I recently struck on an idea that I (note: I know nothing about computers, or how they work. this is a good idea to me.) think would be extremely practicle, and allow moderators to use that lovely sweeping IP ban on recurring pests such as BNP Britain, Youngia, or various bots.
See, when the internet isn't working properly, you get a page telling you so, with rudimentary instructions on some things that might fix it. When the school blocks a site, a page comes up telling you so. Evidently, if you get IP banned from a site, a page must pop up telling you so. So, what if the page that popped up had contact information, an e-mail address possibly, that would be shared by the Mods. If a nation got IP banned, they could send an e-mail, and the Mods could either say no, or they could remove the block.
Now, seeing as i don't work with computers (at all) i have no idea on how proxies work. This is based on the assumption that proxies are slightly varied IP address's from the original IP address. If the block is broad enough, all the proxies get squished. Bye bye BNP.
So, any ufrther ideas, or reasons why this wouldn't work would be appreciated. Either i help the Mods devise something good for the site, or I learn a little more. Both ways it's a win-win, so don't hold back.
