Eshialand wrote:/notamod, but Stately isn't an official app, so Technical isn't the right place to report bugs relating to it. You should probably leave that for the Stately team to handle. The only official NS experience is the one at nationstates.net, so, as the AN suggested, just use that instead.

This is the Stately thread, aka the correct place to report problems with Stately. Unfortunately it does seem Greater Tern probably won't be back to fix this one, though, so... yeah.

It is open source, so the likelihood of someone coming along and fixing it is non-zero, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You've summoned me back from the grave :P

I'm so sorry for this issue. In theory, Stately should be able to handle new census scales it doesn't know without crashing (they'll just show up as "Unknown"), but it seems like there was a bug with that logic.

An update with a fix should be out shortly (pending Google Play/Amazon Appstore review). For sideloaders, an APK is available on GitHub.

For me, Stately keeps on glitching out when I attempt to tap any tab other than Overview in certain regions.
It either kicks me back to the page of the nation I was last looking at or crashes.
Other regions appear to be fine though.
EDIT: It appears to only affect me on an Amazon Fire Tablet for some reason.

Stately 1.10.5 is now available on Google Play, the Amazon Appstore and GitHub.

This update fixes the crashing issue and adds support for the Patriotism and Food Quality census scales. My apologies for the slower turnaround time in getting a fix out.

I don't think I've seen this issue before. Would you mind sending me a list of regions where the app crashes?

One of the regions affected is Sophia for some reason.

Thanks for the video. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing this issue on any of my devices, which I think might point to an OS issue. Which version of Android do you have?

I ended up getting it working now. Just uninstalled and reinstalled and now it's fixed.

Hi everyone, it's been a while -- just over two years since the last update in fact!

Stately 1.11.0 is now available on Google Play, the Amazon Appstore and GitHub.

This update adds support and fixes bugs from changes over the last two years, including:
  • Issues answered count in nation pages
  • Regional banners
  • Badges for nations banned in a region
  • Fixes for SVG flags, region moves and dossier updates

Adding support for SVG flags required adding a library which has a minimum Android version of 5.0 Lollipop hence that's also now the minimum Android version for Stately. Sorry about that!

As usual, comments and suggestions are appreciated -- I've forgotten to add a few things like WA injunctions so I'll likely have another update out in two years soon.

I might be wrong about this given my only brisk reading of the code, but does Stately set a userclick parameter for siteside actions? Would violate the latest version of the script rules if not.

Stately has a fair few exemptions from the script rules to begin with. It’s not of particular concern to the team as of current for the userclick parameter to not be present.

Thanks for clarifying this, I really appreciate it! I can try adding in the userclick parameter in the next app update to conform to the new rules as well. My understanding is that it needs to be added to any non-API interaction (i.e. direct HTML scraping, for both GET and POST) with NS, is that right?

Please let me know too if Stately's been causing any technical issues on NS, happy to address them as best as I can!

It would be ideal if you added those parameters, we're just not worried about it in the same way that we'd be worried about some random R/D script.

And yes, any non-API GET/POST request initiated by a user must have a userclick parameter.

Edit: Or PATCH/PUT/DELETE as well I suppose but we don't support those.

Hi everyone, happy Z-Day!

Stately 1.11.1 is now available on Google Play, the Amazon Appstore and GitHub. Additionally, I'd like to point out that Stately is now available on F-Droid as well, although builds take a lot longer to show up there.

This update fixes issues related to telegrams and region dossiers, in addition to other bug fixes and improvements (such as supporting WA injunctions and including the userclick parameter for non-API calls). Comments are appreciated as always!

Aww, thanks [v], I really appreciate it!

Regarding the weird GHR: I don’t think that’s from me — I’ve actually been avoiding testing that feature to avoid spamming y’all. Was this GHR a one off or has this been a constant issue? Anything I ought to do to clean up how Stately sends messages through GHR?

Hey everyone, bit of a small update:

Stately 1.11.2 is now available on Google Play, the Amazon Appstore and GitHub. The update should be propagated to F-Droid as well within the next few weeks.

This update fixes a minor bug involving the userclick implementation, among other small improvements.

Just found out this existed, trying it out as soon as I can.

Edit: Looks great, and I can see myself using it. Of course, I am a bit miffed by the lack of full access to the site, but I can guess why it isn't all there.
