I guess they are not not allowed (ie allowed). Depends on the conversation. If the thread attracts attention from people of the same language then thats good. If the admins are concerned maybe they can look it up, but as the forum works the only harm would be if the conv offended someone. To offended they'd get the language and tell the mods, who can then find out. I'm guessing the forum character set is limited.

Most likely languages have free internet translators for the mods to check. They are hardly perfect, but some idea may be known.

I don't intend for the conversation to contain anything bad, so I guess it's OK. I hope so anyway because I just made it! XD Yeah the internet translators should work alright for the mods. That was my main concern. I didn't know if the mods would lock it because they wouldn't be able to understand what was being said (I assume) so they wouldn't know if any spamming of flaming was going on.

I would guess the policy would go something like this:
The _thread_ could be in that non_English language. That's okay. But if the Mods discover that the posting in that language are obscene, profane, defamatory, or libelous, expect to be warned, the thread deleted, and whatever action the Mods feels is appropriate for that particular abuse. And since the approach was meant to deliberately blindside the Mods, expect the censure to be more severe than would normally occur.

Why would we object to users not speaking English? That's ridiculous. Thread locked.
