Just toclear up the BBCode bar at the top of the post areas, could the {region-tag} and {region-tag=} codes be combined? The easiest way to do this would be to simply hide the {region-tag=} code from the post area. It would still be enabled, it just wouldn't be visible to click on. If one wanted to create a {region-tag=} code, one just has to add '=' onto the end of the {region-tag} code.

Just like with {spoiler} and {spoiler=}, actually.

Otherwise, I reckon this is a great idea! Well done!

My own tag suggestions would be links to all of the forums, so instead of RP, have II, NS etc. Then maybe some tags for the really really big inter-regional alliances, although I suppose much of that would come under defender/raider friendly. Alternatively a 'private' tag, if your region is just for you and your mates, maybe linked to password-protection.

Finally, a few tests of my own:
F7er, Generalite, Raider, This is a tag.[region-tag=peaceful roleplay]This is another one.[/region-tag]

There is a furry fetish, but then again there's also a cheese fetish and cheese obviously features rather frequently in the game. If you'd rather, the tag could be "anthromorph" or "anthromorphic" or something similar. If there's a furry or someone who knows furries out there who can think of a better alt term, feel free.

Omigodtheykilledkenny wrote:"Peaceful" makes more sense than "Peaceful roleplay", as I have no earthly idea what "peaceful roleplay" is.

"Peaceful roleplay" as in roleplay of assorted peaceful events rather than wars or terrorism.
For example, at one time or another the IDU has had an IC 'Regional Council', diplomatic exchanges between member nations, a 'twin towns' programme, a student exchange programme, some sporting contests (but not really enough for the 'Sports' tag to be appropriate), cultural contests, an International Cheese Festival...
Would you consider "Roleplay (No Wars)" to be a better way of saying this?
(I'd prefer this to just "Peaceful", because there's nothing in the latter term to let people know that it refers to roleplay rather than to gameplay...)

And make them more of a recruiting tool than they already are? No thanks.

Anything new on an eco-friendly tag? It was to be considered by moderators, I believe.

Made a few mostly cosmetic changes:
  • Got rid of the "(tags)" link from the World page, since the page you get by simply clicking "x,xxx regions" has the Tag Cloud on it now.
  • The full Tag Cloud page is also accessible when viewing a list of regions with a certain tag, via the "Tag:" link at the top.
  • Added some navigation at the top of the Change Region page
And not quite relatedly, if you visit the Change Region page (by clicking "Tired of life in <your region>?"), any regions you visit for the next 20 minutes will have their "Move <your nation> to <this region>"!" buttons bolded.

The "List" and "Search" tabs at the top of the change_region page link to http://www.nationstates.net/#list so just re-direct to your nation.

I already had. There's nothing there. I would like to know if the suggestion has been given consideration yet. And if the decision is not to have it, why not?

Another Tag

I have a suggestion for a tag. Seeing as there are Multiple Wrestling regions, wouldn't it be a good idea to add "Wrestling" (or something similar) to the tag list?

Could we get a way to order the tags that show on our region page? Only five show by default, and it would be nice if founders could shuffle them around to be sure the most important ones show.

I'll recomend a "Mature" and "Family Friendly" tag for regions that are either very explicit and adult oriented or regulate their content to make it child-friendly.

The presence of a tag doesn't mean the rules apply differently to a region.

I really like the new tags. As others have mentioned I don’t really see a reason for adding a commendation or condemnation tag, since commendations and condemnations already create a large visible link at the top of your region. There are already more than enough links created by these resolutions without adding more.

One suggestion I have is that like embassies, delegates and founders have the ability to order their tags in priority. That way they can emphasize the things they feel are most important about their region.

It would also be nice to be able to remove and add more than one at once.
