I understand that you have templates that limit you. But, how can an economy thrive w/53% taxes?

Generally it is about income tax, personal income, not corporate; the economy can be influenced by funding or supporting commerce in issues but income taxation doesn't affect it too much except for where you want wealthy people to pay more in one issue: it's possible to role-play capitalism where income taxes are high but corporations pay next to nothing, for example.

Answering a combination of issues over time can yield unusual effects.

That's nothing, I've seen thriving economies with 100% tax rates.

friend, dont you see that this is very unreal game! what is this nation with 860 billion people. or for example i received an issue in which somebody has demanded that people should go nude in the streets! or that the economy is dominated by the book publishing. if there is not other industries bigger that the publishing who will buy the books?
