This is the third or fourth time that I've created a Nation over the past few years, and it's sad to see that the people in charge of scripting are still incredibly bad at their jobs. This game is a joke. The repercussions of any given Issue/Response combination are outrageous and they turn a Nation into a joke, too. I opt to disallow Public Nudity, so Nudity is 'frowned upon' in my Nation - period. I decide that people should be able to practice their own religions without others making derogatory remarks about them, so Insulting Religion becomes Illegal in my country. I say Private Corporations should not be in charge of government, and now they're also illegal. What the heck is wrong with the writers here?

These are not realistic results, and this game does not assist people in learning more about the way governments work - or, in my case, what would happen to a Nation if I were running it. As I cannot seem to find a link that will allow me to cancel my account here, please do it for me, Moderators. If not, whatever. I won't be back. Ever again.

That's kind of the point; the game is satirical, and in a lot of the choices, you can't actually "win".

I suggest if you want to learn more how governments work, you don't play a game based on a 1984ish kind of satirical novel.

Yes, NationStates is a joke, but that's why we like it. This game was never meant to be educational or anything like that.

If you really want your nation deleted, just try and go for 28 days without logging in. If that's too difficult, change the password too something you know you won't remember.

This is a game and as a game is designed to be fun. Issues being taken to the extreme, while annoying sometimes, are also rather funny. For example, I some how ended getting "Coco the clown elected to parliament" by lowering the voting age. Annoying, but hilarious at the same time.

Besides, even in real life you have unexpected consequences from any issue. Say you don't support a minority religion. In real life that may turn into full blown persecution. Stuff like that happens.

It dosent matter if it's in the wrong forum, or if he wants to learn about the goverment more he shouldnt play the game. It's just common sence. He does state somewhat of a point. Like you dont have to just completly demolish it because the writers of the game choose too. It's like you choose your option but they tweak it a bit.

all you have to do is go away and your new nation will lapse after a while.

It does if you get into a real government with real people... but that requires getting on the offsite regional forums.
