Would I ask this in or out of character

I want to ask if nations have families like the Duggar's (FYI, they are an American family w/19 children, and have a reality show on cable)?

You would do it by starting a thread here: viewforum.php?f=23&start=0

Your thread would probably be entitled something like "Does your nation have very large families?" and start off with a description of how that sort of thing works in Venetoland. Whether that sort of thing is in character or out of character is a question of semantics, but it's generally considered out of character since you're discussing your nation from your own point of view and not that of your citizens.
I wish I remember who wrote:Games like Nationstates are like a big cardboard box, and there are two kinds of people in the world. The kind who look at the empty void inside the box and ask "Where the hell is it?" and the kind who jump into the box with their friends and make it into a fort, or a spaceship.
