Repeating Issues

So, I've gotten Compulsory Voting issue three times in a row... what the fuck is wrong? D:

Confirmed - it's a bug of some sorts, possibly related to some other issues-related changes that have been made in the last few days.

Bug identified and exterminated. Thanks for the report!

Let me know if you ever receive issue "0" twice in a row (including the next update), as that's a giveaway that's something is wrong with issue assignment.

EDIT: Sadly, not fully fixed yet.

We're trying to tell you you keep choosing wrong.

Take the hint!

Democracy should be com-p-p-p-p-pulsory

I keep on getting the same issue, issue one, again and again. This is normal, you'd think, because the issues always repeat, but SIX TIMES IN A ROW is a bit over the top. I mean, if there are 250 or so issues, what's the probability of getting the same one six times in a row? That's ridiculous! It must be a bug or something wrong with the game. I've tried to disable NS++, but it seems there's no way to do so. Please help me!

This is a known bug and has been fixed.

Please see the other thread in this forum.

So how do I fix it?

The admins have fixed it. You should get back to receiving other issues you are qualified for from the next update on. Provided, of course, you have room in your in-tray (i.e. have answered/dismissed existing dilemmas).

Fixed the problem for your nation specifically.

The general solution isn't working. Darn, worked great on my test box. Odd, back to the drawing board.

So I just woke up, logged on checked my issues... and it's compulsory voting again. :\

....ah. I just wandered into Technical wondering whether there was a palce to say something about having issue #0 twice1, myself, and found that it wasn't even a far-fetched outlier.

Never mind me. Just passing through. Will it happen a third time, I wonder?

1 In a row, that is. Fifth total time in my nation's life. Encountered as 1st, 496th, 739th and now 767th and 768th issue received. Yeah, I know.

Probably related: I've been legislation pending on issue #0 for over 24 hours after getting it a couple of times in a row.

Bloody annoying, but I did a brute force thing just now and hopefully that beats the update into submission. It worked on my home system the first time around, but RL NS is apparently less accommodating :P Please let me know if this is still happening.

Threads merged. And it's still not fixed 100%. Each time I think it's fixed, another complication pops up. *sigh*

Almost certainly the problem is a lot more complex than "if (issuenumber=[something that evaluates to zero]) then..." rather than "if (issuenumber==[something that evaluates to zero]) then..." (or whatever take on the assignment/equality duality the code this game runs with uses), but I'd feel remiss not mentioning this possibility. You can always pretend it was something else, if you like! ;)

But, for why I'm really here, again, I let my third consequitive issue #0 from last night lay unanswered, and this morning's issue is the Referenda one (#163?). Which means at least it's not so borked as to repeat issues in that list, although to remains to be seen what will happen when I answer them both, shortly, and then have this afternoon's issue pop up (back in the rut or perhaps out of it again). But it's a datum point, in case you hadn't already tested for this.

If it helps, great. If it doesn't, you have the sympathies of a fellow coder. You'll just have to REM it! REM it all!

At least I finally got a new issue but this is an eyesore.
