Good bug catch. :)

Most likely they haven't accounted for certain characters. Happens a lot when making stuff like this, actually! It probably wouldn't work for me, either.

However, my name still doesn't work.

Thanks for your attention, Glen-Rhodes!

...perhaps also, make the short form the default when using the @ preface? When I refer to someone on the RMB, I usually don't need the pretitle.

We second that Kenny! Ditto not needing the flag.

I didn't use the pretitle.....that's the problem.....
I typed @China-_- on the RMB, and it doesn't work.

Fixed! Thanks for the report. It was failing on nation names that end in a hyphen when there was no other text following (so "Hey @China-_-" was failing but "Hey @China-_- what's cooking" was working!).

Makes sense to me! @NAME now converts to [nation=short]NAME[/nation].

Y'know, for some odd reason, when you preface a nation with the word "and", the message field doesn't seem to recognize the space. Look:

It works for most other contexts; it just doesn't like the word "and".

(If it helps, Firefox on Windows 7.)

Could I try something?

@Aksun?
@Aksun!
@Aksun'
@Aksun&
@Aksun
@Aksun ?

Edit: http://www.nationstates.net/region=unit ... 9#p6730449

It seems to work with special characters even if you don't space them.

I don't know if this helps or not and I am willing to try other combinations.

Fixed, thanks. A bug was introduced with the "China-_-" patch!

Hi Violet. I was wondering....is it possible in the future to allow the use of the @ tab on the forums as well?
It will save a lot of time for RPs, when we list the countries involved......

I think so, yes. There is a big patch coming for the forums that I'm hopeful will drag it into the modern era. There's no official release date for it yet--it's not code I'm writing; it's from the phpBB people, who make the forum software we use--but it seems to be getting close, and should gain us a lot of handy features.

I tried to @ for TAO's nation in his region; http://www.nationstates.net/nation=--tao-- and this didn't work. I had to just use @Tao for his Balder nation as a replacement instead. I would rather be able to use @ for one of TAO's puppets in our/his region.

I'm guessing the @ coding doesn't recognize "-" or something?

It's really not too much a big deal, but thanks ADMIN if you take a look.
