Leave the GA vs SC bickering out of it, the topic under discussion is whether or not a Supermajority would be a good idea or not; the topic is not about who has or hasn't left who alone or who's picking fights with whichever organization. So let's get back to the actual topic, kay guys?

man I really hate those GA folks... oh woops right.

Coming from oregon where we used to have the super majority, it's good if you don't want any laws passed but given that I'm sure most of us do want resolutions passed I say it would not be good for the WA.

Im not saying the GA should have supermajorities. But when we are proposing to liberate a region, commend or condemn, we ought to be more than just a majority in favor.

Why? The OP says you think there are too many SC resolutions, but there are only 13, which means we've only adopted a little over a half that the delegates viewed fit... And if we went all the way up to 66% we only would have passed ONE less resolution.

So it won't even reduce the number of commend/condemn/liberate resolutions, after all this discussion, what positive effect do we get out of a supermajority for the SC?

Yes, you're right: there have been few SC resolutions so its way too small a sample size to make any type of conjecture and say having a supermajority won't stop plenty of resolutions that would have passed at a simple majority.

I fail to see the point of a super majority. We want to see activity in the World Assembly. A super majority would certainly curtail that.

If anything should be done, the approval % should be bumped up to 7%. That would mean that a proposal would need 64 approvals to reach quorum.

Thoughts?

Probably should have a separate topic, but again its pretty pointless. We're not seeing too many resolutions get to vote, and with the forthcoming splitting of the SC & GA, there'll be even more time to vote on resolutions - there's really no need to restrict either the number that get to vote, or the number that are passed.

This seems like a good idea for the special resolutions. By the way, a supermajority would be 2/3 (67% or 66.6...%). Well actually super is anything over 50+1, but generally 2/3.
