The coder for both NSwiki and NS++ has been away on IRC since the 29th of April, so he's probably unable to work on this at the moment. Still, hoping it goes operational soon.

NSWiki is fairly tightly coupled to NS++. I imagine fixing the Mongols problem the NS++ service depends on brought the wiki back up.

I will look into the public backup system.

NS itself will also be saving backups of nswiki.

This has come up in a few recent chats, but who exactly owns NSwiki? Is it officially owned by Nationstates, or is it still considered 3rd party?

NSWiki problems

I got a problem with loging into the NSWiki. It says I'm not logged in on Nationstates when I try to log in. But I am. Can anyone explain this to me and possibly give tips how to solve the problem? I've tried at least a dozen times, with loging out and and in again, but it's to no avail.

You haven't been answered because it's sorta in limbo. I think we host it, but I'm quite certain that it's not officially staffed by NS.

Just curious, but what would be the steps to get it staffed by NS? Get some mods on board as sysops / administrators?

Not by the mods, because we're not making that call, nor are we discussing it. And no, you couldn't get me to sysop a wiki on a bet. I don't think any of the other mods (well, maybe Blaat) have any interest in positions there.

I know it's on [violet]'s loooooooooooooong list of things to do around the site. I have no idea what priority, if any, has been assigned it.

Aww, I was totally looking forward to working with you over on NSwiki, Fris :(

The main problem we have right now is we can't access the site. Since (I believe) Saturday, we've been getting a "504 Gateway Time-out" error. When the site is operational, we have issues with a few scripts that Kenny and I are unable to really do anything about. Furthermore there are issues that Kenny and I have ideas with, but cannot implement them. Like the idea of reigning in the bot that constructs articles. Issues about connectivity between the historical archives and the current version. Stuff like that.

That's why I inquired about the hosting. We're having difficulties and could use some clarity and a means to work this all out. It's too nebulous right now and that's why I think we're having these problems.
