Integrate a moderation system of some sort or upload things to a forum-like setting... allow people that are moderators here to trawl through, VOLUNTARILY, and look for things that shouldn't be there and delete them!

Something else I am missing?

While I'm not justifying the concern, I think what may be being alluded to here is what happened at the end. When relationships between Jolt and NS broke down, and NS had moved to its new forums, Jolt (I guess by that time they were called OMAC) removed the moderator privileges of the NS mods on their forums. It didn't really matter because everything was now taking place on the NS forums, where they had mod privileges, but it meant the Jolt forums became a kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland, with Hairless Kitten being the chief zombie. He was banned from NS but the NS mods were powerless over him on Jolt, and he posted a lot of incredibly foul stuff. There was also general spamming, and uncontrolled ad spamming.

The archive only goes through April 2009, though, before all that happened.
