I had to remove delegate controls today, because of an in region decision to remove delegate controls to keep you guys away from us due to the raiding attempts on our region. This is a new thing

It went in this order.

Password, people attempting to incur upon our password,

Region Shutdown and removal of delegate controls.

So you chose to opt-out of raiding by turning the Delegate Controls off. I'm glad we've established that RPers have the ability to opt-out and have all along.
It's ok! You can trust me! I've been Commended!

Therefore you have actually harmed the RP regions in this way.

How about you shut down all of your recruiting for the duration of time the R/D Summit took? See how beneficial that would be to your region? That's what many RP regions are going through.

It's far more difficult, and puts all the pressure on one person, the founder.

Edit: Plus, you shouldn't have to, just so some raiders wont have the lust to vandalize your region.

Because we are still in the process of voting of whether or not we want to open Mystria to grafitti posting on our RMB or whether we must just shut down recruiting efforts until this decision is made. Or until you guys stop harrassing RP regions.

Because we don't wish to have raiders hiding inside our regions when we do re-enable them again... We aren't "opting-out" we've only set up countermeasures (which are in all ways flawed) against raiders, but I'm certain the second we even think about putting them down, we're to be raided again by your kind. I'm being hostile here only because of the increasingly sardonic tone we receive from raiders in response to our outrage that they feel obligated to piss on everything RPers work towards.

What gets me is why isn't there a region tag for opting out of the R/D game yet. Something like "Not Interested in R/D" or something.

I think there's a neutral tag, which might convey that message. That being said, R/D can apparently only thrive when it's forced upon everyone who doesn't want to play it.

Something around 'but but but then it'd be abused and then we cannot invade anyoone!! we cannot vandalise a region b/c we so enjoy it! it hurts you know! D;'

It kind of has a point, so I'd support something more complicated than it. Whatever, as long as we roleplayers could passing away without dealing with R/D thing we don't want to play.

Raiders rely on vandalizing the regions of helpless players against their will for self-satisfaction, they wont abide by a tag, infact it's likely they'd target with the tag.

We are waiting until a decision is made, and we do not have a choice if the choice is between ruining our existing region and accepting new members which is sad, because we want to be a more open region, but the risk of destruction of our RMB is discouraging.

And the lack of help I can have from the delegate whom I trust might disappear if I had not been excessively paranoid and limiting the game for all of us.

If it's a passworded region, where only the founder can see the password (Which many are thanks to the raider scare), yes, recruitment relies on the founder.

But what about a region with delegate controls off and no password? Why is everyone else somehow incapable of bringing in new people?

Delegate controls an no password= potential messageboard spam by raiders who want to lulz raid and pollute our Message board, to which I will have to, ALONE, suppress every single individual message, instead of having my cooperative and native regional delegate work with me to clear away the trash.

This makes my work harder, and less enjoyable.

Quick question, does the WA hold any power in the game? If not, why do people try to do this over and over again? Also, to point out the harm of raiding parties, check the destroyed regions area, and the damaged regions area, these only being a fraction of those destroyed or critically injured by the "fun" of GP. What type of game takes sport in keeping people from playing their own sub-games? huh? Also, Inyourfaceistan, I could care less what you think you are. I see you as a sympathizer to a flawed cause and thus one of them. While again we have been encouraged by Moderation to avoid using such terminaology, time and time again, raiders refuse to believe through their negativism that compromise can be reached.

I've never been raped, or mugged, or even assaulted, but if I say "I think crimes like rape and mugging hand assault are terrible and something should be done about them", is my statement any less valid?

Delegate Bone Fort (9 endorsements) of The Apartment Block (32 nations, founder, delegate controls disabled), it's been said many times in this thread that RPers have no way to opt-out of raiding. When pointed out that RPers can just RP in a region with a founder and delegate controls disabled and that's the same as an opt-out, some RP players, like Grenartia, have been arguing that there are reasons that RPers can't do that.

However, despite this claim, it seems that the majority of RPers reside in regions with founder and a lot of those founders have the delegate controls off. If this is true, then the claim that RPers can not protect themselves from raids, rather than simply choose not, rings empty.

Grenartia wrote:AM only turned it off after I warned them of threats from the gameplay IRC of increased raiding against RP regions (the "we" in my post, which I've explained multiple times in this thread.

Ah, good. I'm glad we've established that RPers, once aware of the risks, actually have the ability to opt-out by turning off the delegate controls. I think you've proven my point.

Our delegate had power for a long while because "raiders only hit founderless regions". That unspoken rule changed. Please don't sit there and assume that revoking delegate power is the best solution. Doing that fucks over RP regions' ability to efficiently administer their region. The best solution is to not hit a RP region. Do your homework before you hit.

I think what a great many people forget is that Raiders are also RPers. Don't look at a RP region as "oh those RP guys"; instead think, "Oh, those Raiders posting on their RP puppets". This applies to a few RPers here. Our RP regions are inconvenienced because we know the raiding game. We'd like to see that inconvenience go away and concessions made for both groups.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.
