Something weird is going on with your browser, and I don't think its related to the extension. I recommend you go into chrome's settings and clear your browser cache. See if that fixes it.

That fixed it. Thanks.

No idea. I feel like this should be obvious, but does the issue persist if you refresh the page?

As of May 27th, NationStates++ is 1 year old. It feels much shorter than that. Here are some brief statistics from this last year:

27901 Nations have NationStates++ installed.

14826 of the 27901 are still alive today.

10621 of the 27901 nations are puppets and were created by the NationStates++ Puppet Creator tool.

7046 unique players have logged into NationStates++ in the last 30 days.

3054 of those 7046 players have logged into NationStates++ in the last week.

126 different regions currently run active recruitment campaigns through NationStates++, having sent a combined total of 2,412,711 recruitment telegrams.

22,894,640 national happenings have been recorded by NationStates++, consuming a combined total of 8GB of disk space.

The most controversial RMB post received a combined total of 20 likes/dislikes.

Last week, NationStates++ users made 10 million web requests to NationStates++ for content.

NationStates++ runs on 3 servers, consuming a combined total of 2.5GB of RAM, 3 intel i7 processor cores, 35GB of space, and used 135 GB of network bandwidth last week.

NationStates++ expenses were ~$300 in operating costs in the last year ($200 / Servers, $60 for domains and SSL certificates, $40 in backups and external storage). (Excluding labor)

Well you're still wrong unfortunately and apparently completely ignorant to how this all works. And anyone with a bit of common sense can understand how this generally works. So here's how things work if you still can't understand it:

Yes, NS++ is open source and every "Tom, Dick, or Larry" can inspect it and change it. However, whatever changes they make apply to their computers and their computers alone. There is no magical way that makes their changes affect others and someway how steal information from other people.

Only Affores can change the source code and make it apply to everyone. Tom, Dick, or Larry can't do that.

Other than the fact that Affores has no reason to make changes such that to steal private information from people, the code, once again, is open source. So if he does anything malicious, everyone can see what he did. Nothing is hidden.

No I wasn't saying you don't have common sense,I was saying with some common sense you can avoid your login info being stolen
AKA don't enter your info into a untrusted application without the source being available,NS++ is both trusted and opensource

Nobody except Afforess can change the code (or people authorized by Afforess),for example I could contribute to NS++ by giving Afforess changed code - but not by just dumping it somewhere

Sidenote to Afforess, could i contribute code if i wanted? just wondering

edit: old post is old btw

They have plenty of options. However, I should point out DigitalOcean is a tradeoff. You can get cheap, fast machines with SSDs, but there are no options for more data storage. Large databases and files would not do well there. For the daily dumps and database backups, I use Amazon S3 storage to supplement the limited SSD space with DigitalOcean. Amazon S3 is surprising cheap.

Application instances of NationStates++ (JVM) do not use that much RAM, they can actually fit onto the $5 server and have RAM to spare. My database (MariaDB) consumes the majority of the RAM, and it is on its own server, isolated from the applications.

I have two-factor authentication enabled on Github. Even if someone, somehow, got a hold of my password for Github, they still would be unable to login without physically retrieving my phone. Even then, they would just be changing the code on Github, there are separate passwords and keys for each of the browsers my extension runs on.

Yes, I've received contributions from a few other community members before.

NationStates++ never changes your NS theme for you. Did you happen to go to http://Antiquity.nationstates.net instead of http://www.nationstates.net ?

I have a question about the recruitment system used on NS++. I assume that the blue bar that turns red and says that I am telegramming certain nations is the recruitment system used by NS++. What I wish to know is whether or not is if any telegrams sent via API are supposed to show up in my telegrams "sent items" category or not.

Telegrams sent via the API will appear in the delivery report of the telegram you used "tag:api" as the recipient of. They do not appear as individual sent items, but are summarized in one mass telegram.
