True. So perhaps I'm not as educated in NS. I revise my statement. NS++ is the best thing to have happened to NationStates in at least the last year.

I'll look at any future updates a bit more closely now. Also going to uninstall/reinstall the extension to see if I can fix my NS++ Settings page issue.

My apologies. My point was more that since he is the creator of NS++, and since NS++ is a free product that one chooses to install, Shadow Afforess is of every right to do what he wishes with it. It is not dishonest in that he has never in any way said that he would not use NS++ for advertising his opinions. In addition, if you don't like what he's done with it at this point in time, simply uninstall it, or perhaps edit it to fit your own purposes. It is, after all, open source.

You could say that. However, the point remains that the NS++ extension's overreach of today was a bit overhanded in my opinion. I don't have an issue with it, but I can see the ethical issue arising from this one.

no, he placed a notice on top of the current GA resolution pushing people to vote a certain way on it and placed a big red (1) next to WA.

It's not flashing lights, but it is highly visible. Though easy to dismiss once you've seen it. Can't do a screenshot, since I've already dismissed mine.

While on some level I agree he should have been more professional,he had every right to do so as it's HIS addon YOU chose to install,same as subscribing to a newspaper (as you get updates to the addon on a regular basis anyways)
Besides,Dourian was pushing the vote the other way on the proposal thread,so it all equals out
small voters go in favor of for;while the bigger voters go in favor of against(well,a select group in the least,some hate Dourian)
(meaning the 100+ endorsement voters)

It's not flashing lights, but it is highly visible. Though easy to dismiss once you've seen it. Can't do a screenshot, since I've already dismissed mine.

I didn't see it at all,so it's easy to miss since I regularly visit the WA page to check for proposals,and if you can dismiss it what is the big deal?
