This is a known issue and the NS++ Techie sees it posted at least once a page.

You can blame Mozilla for that one.

That seems important to mention on the website.

I'm not using a dev version of firefox so I guess I'll just accept being screwed.

Or just use one of the other browsers it is supported on. :P

I have been using NS++ since I joined Nationstates ( about 3 1/2 years ago) but as the core game progresses in updates NS++ just falls behind to the point I can no longer use it. It is an amazing extension but it is now becoming too much of a hassle to work with when all the features I need are just no longer there or functioning.

Image
Not being able to access the NS++ Settings Page.

Image
No longer able to use the NS++ Recruitment feature which is extremely important to the position I am now in.

and much more including the weird (NS++) Regional IRC chat setting in the regional section that blocks any confirmations you have to make and the World Assembly tab under nations with the (Regional Power - Regional Influence - Endorsements) not working too.

In conclusion I will not be using and will not actively be advertising an extension that isn't working and is now becoming notorious for not being kept up with. I am sincerely hoping to see this worked on and maybe some of my grievances addressed.

I've been unfortunately busier than I expected.

I'll take a look at the assembly service tonight, I can definitely keep it at least operating.

In terms of features, I will be either replacing NS++ features with NS features or fixing them in the near future.

Hi, I do not believe that Mozilla is requiring signing for nothing (especially in light of the .NET extension controversy): I feel that the extension will need to be signed at some point because most Firefox users are on the main release channel, not the ESR channel.

Afforess was of the opinion that as written, the extension would not be signed.

Significant changes should be made in the relatively near future, alongside minor site changes, to fix that.

I would like to comment that I'm also having these same two problems with NS++. It'd be highly appreciable if they were fixed, quickly, as it currently is quite detrimental to my Gameplay goals.

To add to my list of grievances I question who has the authority to change the regional map settings on NS++ because the option is not available to me as a WAD but no one seems to know why.

I've deleted the extension as this seems to be going nowhere at the moment.

Use LibreNS++. It's what I use now.
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

However, the recruitment feature of NS++ is useful, especially on computers where storage is valuable or on public computers where downloading is not allowed. LibreNS++ doesn't have built-in recruitment like NS++ does, so it's usefulness, at least for me, is greatly reduced.

Hey Elu, if fixing this game-breaking and long-term yet fairly simple bug could become a priority at some point, that'd be great - http://i.imgur.com/Onw03qF.png

Thank you for the screenshot, that does contextualize the problem quite well.

I'll try to get to that in the next couple of days.

Cool, because having to turn off ++ every time I want to add an officer is a pain. Thanks!

On that note, is there any chance that the little icon that shows up at the top of your browser window could have an enable/disable setting, such as is common with adblockers? It'd make turning NS++ off at times, for whatever reasons, a bit easier than navigating to the extension management page.

Another more minor visual bug - the forum view link for RMB's needs to be moved back up to the top of the RMB like it used to be for NS++ - it's near impossible to click at the bottom due to infinite scroll :P

You'll be looking for Eluvatar, then. Caveat emptor: Elu's now a fully-fledged site admin, so might not be dealing with vanilla NS++ as much these days.

If Elu's thinking of handing over the project to someone else though, who would it be?...

I feel like NS++ is in somewhat of a stagnation point.
