Yes, we had a forum outage, and yes, it's been resolved. Apparently our Post Oil reservoir ran dry, and we had to ship in a refill.

Via a triumph of tri-continental cooperation within our admin team, our forum post potential has been increased from the miserly 16 million to our current 4 billion. So yeah, you get to share all that vital information about whose military rifle is the most badass, or which pony is shinier again. Have at it.

I should explain how I figured it out: I suspected that the capacity of Post ID was 3 bytes long before the outage. because the highest post number when the SQL error occurred was 16777215, or 24 ones in binary. Well, there shouldn't be any more post capacity problems with the 32-bit Post ID system until the counter reaches 4294967295.

The reason why these forums are younger than the forums is simple. First, we had independent forums from 2002 to around 2003 or 2004, then Max couldn't afford to pay, so Jolt saved him, then Jolt turned NS to shit, and then Max got the fuck out of Jolt and started these forums.
