Possible new NS application?

I wonder if we as in the developers of NS and the at large community could make a thread or application that can showcase all national flags without having to strum through every region and nation to look at them all. So how bout it?

All default flags, or all possible flags in general? The former seems to be quite a hassle for little payoff, and the latter sounds incredibly difficult or taxing.

Hmm. I already have such a thing for myself, it didn't dawn on me that others might like to peruse flags as well.

If you would like to see all the Flags of The World - Region Edition, we have that on our NSRegionFlag page.

We have not done Nation flags because there are a lot. 57,468 nations (52.78%) use the 470 game issued flags. That means 51,650 nations have an uploaded flag. The most popular game-issued flag is the Default flag with 8,403 using it. The least popular - Niger with 4 nations.

NewTexas... that doesn't scale though. Displaying that page is horribly slow because it starts to download lots and lots of flags from the NS server. Seeing this makes me want to implement a rate limit on the downloading of full-sized flags...

Image scaling, hmm, never thought of that. We will see what we can do.

Maybe we will even get really efficient and pull all the images into our system. Not sure if the database would be faster or the file system.
