Help! I can't login.

First of all, I'd like to say I'm terribly sorry for being such an idiot that I not only forgot my password, but also failed to provide an e-mailaddress for my nation. I like my privacy, so I prefer not to fill in email addresses if I don't have to. And ehm..yeah..ehm, I'm normally not one to forget my password. *laughs nervously*

Anywayz, it happened and I tried multiple times to login with various passwords and I think I've now got an IP ban? Maybe. In any case when I try to login it says I've exceeded the maximum amounts of trying to login. I've now managed to login -yes I did remember my password in the end- on another IP. I even provided an e-mailaddress for my nation now. And I am trying to recover it and get control over my nation again. Sadly, when I click the link in the e-mail that should log me on, it doesn't. So I can't change my password. Is there any way I could get my nation back to my own IP? 'Cause that would be great. I mean this works, and I can play and all..but it's less than ideal...

If that doesn't work, let me know, it means there's something else blocking you from logging in than the obvious I just fixed.

Damn, nee. Inloggen lukt nog steeds niet. Hij geeft nu weer de 'too many failed attempts, wait approximately 45 minutes'. Kan het misschien komen doordat ik de recovery mail heb gebruikt en mijn wachtwoord gereset is en ik daarom het verkeerde wachtwoord gebruik? Als ik op de link in de mail klik word ik ook nog steeds niet ingelogd trouwens.

Please stop trying to log in using the email link. That's only for recovering after a lost password. You can clearly already log in, and you know your actual password.

As I understand your problem, you cannot log in on the nation "Pantlessia" using a direct connection from your home: you're now using a proxy to connect to NS. A block on logging in is started when one logs in using the wrong password too often. This kind of block also times out by itself.

A few things you can do:
- ensure you have Cookies enabled in your browser. This site requires cookies to remain logged in.
- remove existing Nationstates cookies in your browser. A bad cookie could be causing you to fail login.
- log in by going to the site, http://www.nationstates.net/ , and log in using the Login box at the right top.
- If the above fails, please file a Getting Help Report ( http://www.nationstates.net/page=help ) stating the IP address you're trying to connect from, and the error message you get when trying to log in.

First, it didn't work. Same 45 minutes message again. Then I refreshed, and all of a sudden *BAM* I'm logged on. Not sure how that happened when it first gave me the warning, but I'm in! Problem solved! Thanks a lot

File a GHR. Include as much information as you can about the nation in question - not passwords, but email address(es) you may have used, etc. I'm not a Game Mod, so I'm not sure what policy is there, but hopefully it's an "email not being delivered" hiccup that could maybe be sorted out? *fingers crossed*

Probably, yes. The thread is here. About 600 emails got delayed for up to 72 hours.

I am having major issues logging in as well. I used to have a nation called "the queendom of Potatolandia" or just simply "Potatolandia". i had to make a new nation under the same email... and it will not let me log in. I want to resign my old nation from the world counsel and i want to add my new nation to Ramenale (the nation i am using now)

When i tried to use a "request password change" on my email... it will not send to my email and it will not send me to my old nation.

anyone have any help? i want to be a part of the world assembly.

First, this sort of request should be sent via Getting Help, not by bumping a two year old thread that has only passing resemblance to your problem.

Second, "Potatolandia" was never yours. That nation shows a Last login: 12 years 273 days ago, and is too big for the name to be recycled. Any attempt to get a password reset on that nation will necessarily fail, since it wasn't yours.

Third, you neglected to name "a new nation under the same email", so we can't check up on that.

Fourth, you failed to provide adequate detail as to where in the process things failed.

Finally, your 'old' nation is Potatolania. Spelling matters.
