Chrome Blocks Access to this Thread

First off, I apologize if this is a known bug or if this is a false alarm, but I feel that in case it is not, I should just post it to be safe.

When I try to reply to this topic, I get the following indicator:

I don't think that it's related to an advertisement on the page as I have purchased a support account, but if that's not the case, then I really have no idea what could be the cause as my computer is relatively stable. Replying to any other thread works just fine, and it is only this one in particular.

Again, if this is nothing serious, a false alarm, &c, &c, then I do apologize, but I wanted to inquire as to what may be causing this particular thread to present the above message.

Have you tried clicking the "Post Reply" button? That's when I get the error message.

I just tried, and received a malware warning. I'll post the exact report later.

Nevermind, it's the same exact thing as the OPs. I don't know why it would do this for one particular thread, I can (obviously) post in others...

What happened is, someone in that thread posted something, most likely by hotlinking a picture, from the website englishrussia(dot)com. Obviously Google has received malware reports about that site and has told Chrome to block any connections to it.

Yet another reason why you shouldn't hotlink images.

So, does that mean that the warning would be safe to ignore (not that I want to post in the thread that bad, but for reasons of future reference), or is this simply an identification of the problem?

When we get one of these notifications, we usually just edit out the hotlinked image and move on. That image has now been removed. While Chrome is a little paranoid about identification, I suppose that's better then the converse.
