Coil-Accelerator Cannon(s)

Hello Everyone,

I would like to propose something, coil-accelerators (also known as rail-guns) to be used in Modern Tech wars as well as the obvious future tech.
Before we have the town-crier yelling god-mode, I would like to explain myself.

Coil-Accelerators are basically just electro-magnets that shunt metal projectiles forward. Thus, by having a bunch of coils lined up one after another, you can accelerate the projectile to wondrous velocities. This is done by switching on the electricity to pull the projectile towards the coil, then shutting off the electricity just as the projectile passes through, which keeps the projectile from rebounding back and forth. If repeated, the projectile's velocity grows and grows, depending on the total length of the accelerator.

So, it does not fire lasers or anything like that, but can actually fire normal artillery shells, bombs, etc. You can actually create a coil-accelerator cannon in your own home in just a few minutes too!

This was general help topic. Thus, it applies to this category. I did not want to have to do some extravagant role-playing dialogue just to have a nice discussion about coil-accelerators.

Although, if I am proven wrong, I can always delete this topic and copy+paste it into a different section.
