Is NSTracker a bit bugged or something?

Postby Slekomania » Fri Nov 23, 2012 2:19 pm

So, I was just comparing my nation to a few others on Absolution NSTracker.

I decided to compare Slekomania to a country named Logan Spielmaker
Their population is 50million
43% of their goverment budget goes to defense.
Economy is at 92%
Nationanalysis defence forces are 45
His total force according to Absolution NSTracker is 18,900,000.

Slekomania's stats
Population is 1.038 billion
45% of the goverment budget goes to defense.
Economy is 96%
Nationanalysis defence forces are 228
According to NSTracker Slekomania's total force is 4,671,000

So is this a bug, or am I really bad at trying to make a big military?

You need to post this on Technical or Gameplay, not here.
Life is a tragedy to those who feel, a comedy to those who think, and a musical to those who sing.

I am the very model of a Nation States General,
I am a holy terror to apologists Confederal,
When called upon to source a line, I give citations textual,
And argue about Palestine, and marriage homosexual!

NSTracker isn't run by NS, so Technical would not be the forum for it.

No need, a request to move it to a more appropriate forum has already been made.

Well, a very simple answer could be that the other nation has a larger percentage of their nation in the military. For example.... let us compare the military of the Severia to Marquez.

Severia-
Pop: 1.236 billion
38% budget is defense
ITR 81%
Economy: 96
Defense Force Size: 171
Military Size: 14,090,400

Marquez-
Pop: 1.25 billion
Econ: 91
ITR 91%
35% budget is defense
Defense force size 224
Military Size: 43,750,000

Granted, Marqeuz- is registered as having a larger defense force, but by NS marks, it is only about 120% the size, not three times the size. Also, bigger doesn't always mean better, reverting to the Marquez- vs. Severia- mark. Marquezan troops are poorly equipped rabble. They don't usually have body armor, and are generally outfitted with cheap gear, their training is craptastic (wasting time, bullets and food on training is a waste when they could be on the beat). By contrast, Severian troops are very much similar to those of the United States.

Oh, I think I understand.
But I still have some questions.
What does ITR stand for? ( Oh God )

And, how does one manage to make like 37% of their population be in the army?

Slekomania, San Leggera is correct when saying that NSTracker is a third party site. NS staff and players here are unable to assist you where calculators are concerned unfortunately. That is why there is an open comments section on the site, a posted email address within the FAQ's to use (admin@conquestofabsolution.com) and me.

I am unsure of the exact year Fostonia created NSTracker but it has always been buggy since it was never intended to do the things it does today nor to handle the load it has today. That's why an entirely new, up-scaled version will be released soon and no, it will be the furthest distance from a copy.

During this building process it is possible some wires got crossed generating bugs. I promise to look into it tomorrow thoroughly and report my findings as well as the solution but on NSTracker, not here. Please, if you have questions, comments, rude remarks, my door is always open.

I personally welcome any and all adversaries to the project because their own insights educate me. I will be the first to defend your right, if you are so inclined, to not use any of them. They are far from perfect and meant merely as a novelty to add extra flavour though we are working to narrow the gap between what NSTracker is and what players wish NSTracker to be. I am the furthest thing from a closed-minded authority and am willing to discuss at length in private or on the site the entire project to any interested parties and have been doing so in both camps for over two years now. We're about to implement these player ideas in January 2013.

You have my apologies for the confusion and inconvenience.

See the post above you. Contact the people in charge of the website, this isn't something that the NSMods/Admins can help with.
