Don't have the screen cap but I just got an ad for a game called "Blade of Queen".

Thanks. The ad itself seems OK (we allow ads for dating sites), but the site it led to seemed like such an obvious scam that I blocked it.

I attempted to file a GHR on an ad that seems extremely close to, or more likely is violating the PG-13 rule, and directed here. I have a link to a screen shot I took here https://m.imgur.com/W2iBE7g. The ad appears to be for some weird game. As you can see, the ad is of two scantily clothed anime girls with their shirts being pushed up by fingers on the ad, captioned with something about masters, and not getting caught. Looks like a crappy sex game, or a scam. Oh, and I've only seen it on pages like my nation and TG pages, it's a box ad.

Just to restate what we already told you (for the benefit of other readers), GHRs only reach game mods, not admins. Sure, they can see them if they want, but as a rule it's GM territory. Post bad ads here.

Oh damn I did make it sound like I'm pissed off at customer service (metaphorically) for not being able to help me, I'm sorry I didn't mean to word it like that.

I've been getting a few ads for IMVU lately that don't look kosher.

I reviewed a couple hundred IMVU ads but didn't see anything inappropriate. If you see something objectionable, please try to grab a screenshot.

As Adsense clients, NationStates has the ability to restrict those display choices. [violet] is the one who sets the limitations, which is why we have this thread.

I use AdSense too I tend not to restrict ads as if the ads are tailored to visitors then they are more likely to click on them increasing the clicks per minute revenue generated, but that's just me.

The tailoring isn't very good, and when you're getting ads for Russian mail order brides on a site where many users are under 18, that's a problem.

If people like the ads they are getting, they won't report them.

that's because it's a two part system it uses a persons search history and it also crawls the entire website for "key-words" to help in showing relevant ads for the site. I think you can set it for under 18 mostly I'm not sure if that feature was implemented yet

Advertisers aren't always honest so setting it to under 18 won't reliably screen out everything that it should screen out. Hence the need for this thread.

exactly I ran into ads like that even though I set it to only display relevant ads that have something to do with the website as a whole

Bad Ad?

Postby Frankana » Sun Feb 19, 2017 3:45 pm

This ad seems a little inappropriate. Its for a site called blade of queen, with a young girl. The ad reads "My lord! Ravage me, or be my slaver. Play Free"

Seems a little sex-ringy.
