First of all I'm not sure but it seems to be throwing me an error on "invalid data" whenever I include people with a hyphen in their names in a list of nations.

Just an FYI that I tried to run an SC campaign using this program tonight, and I ran into the same option. I used find/replace to remove the 4 or 5 nations with hyphens (-) in their name, which resolved the issue. Nations with underscores (_) were left in the list without issue.

If the list of "troublesome nations" would still be useful, let me know. I can hang onto it for a stretch, at least.

Yes, I'm aware of the hyphen bug and have fixed it; I just haven't gotten around to uploading the fixed version yet.

If I had to guess I'd say make sure no one else is using the auto-tger for your region at the same time you're trying.

I am in the process of setting up an autotelegram and I'm a bit confused as to how to proceed. I don't know what data to enter in the fields for Telegram ID, Secret Key, and Recipients. I also don't know where to paste my recruitment message. I do have a client key already. Aurelia or anyone else who knows, would you be able to help me with this?

This will be of use to you here, particularly the "To send telegrams via the API" section. Look at the documentation for the recipients - the most common one is "recruitment:new", which is the recipient to recruit new nations.

This isn't a NS AutoTG problem. "Blocked by Category" means that the telegram was blocked by the user's filter. For example, if you sent out a telegram that was marked as recruitment, and one of the recipients had set their filter to block all recruitment TGs, the TG would be blocked due to its category. Thus, "Blocked by Category".

However, as the first time user of anything related to mass telegrams, I didn't really understand what you meant by the telegram id and the secret key. The two concepts are not explained in your user interface, nor in your tutorial or the readme version thereof. I had to visit the NS API page to find out. I would therefor suggest you add the obtaining of a telegram id and secret key to your tutorial so that people new to mass telegramming such as myself aren't confused at first.

Other than that, I'd just like to tell you that you did a great job. The interface is intuitive and clear, and does exactly what I want it to do. Well done!

I didn't test it through entirely, but for some reason the app gives an error when you try to send a telegram to a nation that has a stripe in its name. In my case, the name that caused an error to be generated was 'Franco-Albion'. To be exact, my input was 'nation:Franco-Albion'.

What are you trying to do here? I see that you are new, and think you may just be confused. This thread is for an open-source program that allows one to easily use the NationStates Telegram API. It is not for posting recruitment telegrams in. Can I or someone else help you do what you're trying to do?
