Nation suggestion

Postby Astholm » Sat May 30, 2009 9:36 am

For nations that already have email addresses in their settings (like this one and my puppet nations), shouldn't they be considered as undeletable, and that they have to have their password re-sent to be re-activated
if they are inactive?

Just a thought.... :)

I have multiple puppets here; only a select few are used to represent the continent of Astholm; others used represent Westholme, and do not artificially boost my nation's statistics.Previously i used puppets with nation names that did not identify as Astholm (e.g. Australis Australia; now all new puppets use ASTHLM, NORTHLM, SOUTHLM, WESTHLM (HLM denoting The Holmes.
NOTE: Other uses of Astholm here have a different continuity and refer to work created by the user Astholm, not the nation

We could send people an email if their nations are getting close to deletion.

There's Vacation Mode, then there's Sabbatical Mode !

I'd like to see it as a setting, so if you wished to get the emails, you could sign-up basically for a subscription by checkmark in your Settings page to get the warning email. I don't see the need to make it a default setting, because for expendable puppets that would just be plain annoying.

Would you even bother supplying an email addy for disposable puppets?

Raiders would, only to switch WA's fast.

Not in all cases, but my puppets are in my signature below... for the record.

Which makes me note you have now made your signature too long. Try putting all your puppets together on a line separated by spaces or some such.

Many invaders, including raiders and defenders, will supply distinct email addresses for disposable puppets. The purpose is to have multiple outstanding simultaneous WA acceptances, so they can switch WA membership from nation to nation instantaneously.

For example, if defenders wish to liberate a region, they must get X number of WAs in the region at update: It's quite likely that as they try, their nations get banjected. The use of pre-accepted puppets permits them to try again at any time. (Until they run out of prepared puppets)

The purpose of my nation puppets isn't to have simultaneous WA acceptances (which would be cheating and a breach of the game rules, probably), but to use in some of my trade/embassy/diplomatic scenarios on here as additional nations to provide context for it. They aren't "disposable" puppets as such, these have a genuine use - and what I've posted here is for the record, in case anyone asks about them.

That's probably a better use for it than simultaneous WA acceptance.

Erastide, I fixed the signature as you requested. Hope it looks better now.

No, it's not rule breaking. We NEVER have more than one nation in the WA at any given time. We resign, and ONLY then click on the acceptance link that gives membership. There is NO rule against APPLYING with more than one nation.

In the past, this technique wasn't needed, because you could update multiple times, just moving from region in region so you could defend more than one region in a night. But apparently people manipulated that to grow their nation population or something, so they killed it.
