Delegate Access to Regional Control

Postby Topid » Sat Sep 05, 2009 8:52 pm

When I look at all my regions, I can tell, really fast, that it's not/is passworded. 1) There's an icon on the front page 2) When I enter the regional control the box is checked if I've passworded it, or it's empty if I have not passworded it.

I can't tell, if I have allowed delegate access in any way. No icon on the regions page, and the check box in the regional control is ALWAYS checked by default, even if I've blocked delegate access to regional control just moments ago.

So, can an admin make it so there is either an icon, or make the delegate access check box work like the password checkbox, pretty please?

(EDIT: And for the record, I only block delegate access in the regions who have no community. That way someone can't eject all members and refound. If the region has a community I trust them to tell me if I need to banject a bad delegate.)

Er... how many regions do you control, anyway?

No, the checkbox will not show if delegate control is disabled. See here. If your settings aren't changing, that's another issue.

More than I care to count, Kenny. Most are name holders, though. :D

Is there a reason why the checkbox can't be made to show that? (I would use that page, except there is really know way for me tell if it's working until it's too late, right? :p) Is it hard to code or somethin?

Sorry, I was ambiguous. The checkbox will be unchecked if delegate access is disabled. Read the post again with that meaning.

Okay my bad.

Well, look at the regional happenings of The States of America. Third line down, it says I barred delegate access. But the box in my regional control is still unchecked.

EDIT: I hope the glitch is with the box, and not the setting. I hadn't considered that delegates might be able to access my controls anyway... My regions may be unsafe...

You missed something here...

Delegate access to regional controls are always ON when the Founder isn't located within the region.
The founder can only turn it OFF when located within the region. It turns back ON again the moment the founder leaves the region.

So, it's a bad idea to use one nation as the founder for many regions. Use a different one for each region, and have that nation stay in that region.

Delegate control apparently can't be disabled while the founder is not in the region. I knew it couldn't if the founder had ceased to exist; I guess that's how we check.

EDIT: Ballotonia beat me to it, but the code confirms this.
