Given that those are the only two proofs of ownership of a nation, I'd say you're out of luck.

I see nations cease to exist after they've been founded 4-5 hours. How is it possible?

Not a mod or admin, but I believe those are mod deletions due to rule violations.

Reserved: This name was used by a former nation of significant size.

Alaska
Former Nation
Id: 1722779
Population: 534 million
Founded: Antiquity
Last activity: 18 years 89 days ago

Congratulations, Alaska, you're finally old enough to vote!

Perhaps we should begin reconsidering the parameters behind nation name re-releases.

As a bit of a random question, and just to sate my curiosity: What happens to those nation names that belongs to adbots?

Sure, pornspammers aren't known to be subtle and no one would miss those names being not available for use, but what about adbots? Do they get the same treatment, or are they flushed out completely and their names being reusable?

I mean, I reckon no one would clamor for "Cweikjfhsd49329" but it would just fulfill my curiosity. Thanks in advance! ^^

Anything that is deleted by a mod is unusable. There's no differentiation on the backend.

Good to know, thanks! I mean, again... not that people would try to reuse those sort of names, but eh, my curiosity is sated.

Will the news of new development managers (see here) have any effect on possibly being able to get the 500 million population limit finally adjusted to say 750 million or even 1 billion?

It doesn't fall into any of our areas, but it IS one of the most requested ideas, and should be fairly easy to implement. I'll raise it.

Thanks! I did wonder if perhaps it wasn't specifically falling under any of those appointments, but just thought I'd ask anyway. ;)

I personally think it should be this instead of just a change, as eventually it'll become an issue again.

Change nation name reuse policy
I don't think this should be a priority. At some distant point the reuse policy should be updated:

Instead of 5 years under X population, it should be 5 + number of billion population years. So if I have a 1 billion pop nation that CTEs, someone can refound it 6 years later, but if I had a 20 billion pop nation it should be 25 years later. Essentially it's approximately 5 years + double the time the nation has been alive.

Any idea what the new threshold will be and when it will be changed?

They said they would raise it, but it's been raised before and it was decided it wasn't a priority. We've been waiting a long time for another change to happen, so I wouldn't be too expectant. It will make it a more pleasant surprise if anything is done. :)
Arpasia wrote:Arcasia?

A former nation with a population of 1.7ish billion. Unlikely to be made available again soon, even if we do get a change to population limit.

I quite like this idea. The current 500m limit is equivalent to under 4 months of "activity", including the time it takes to CTE (if my maths is correct!). It can be frustrating going for a name that was used over ten years ago, but only for three months, then finding all the similar variants are used too.
It's hard to imagine anyone coming back to revive these. This idea seems to strike a nice balance. .

Nation name release!

Its previous owner was so naughty that the Mods deleted the nation.

Hello, can I request rename of my nation to Perthol, I unfortunately made a typo on registration and only capitalisation can be changed? (Or redirect to proper forum thread if possible)

Thank you very much in advance.
