Hello, can I request rename of my nation to Perthol, I unfortunately made a typo on registration and only capitalisation can be changed? (Or redirect to proper forum thread if possible)

You can change capitalisation, but further change just isn't possible: The game uses the nation's name as its identifier in too many places. The best that you can do is put the "correct" name in your forum sig, or even in your motto.
Or, as your nation is so new, simply create another one to which you give that "correct" name: Having more than one nation at a time is perfectly legal as long as you don't try to have more than one of them as W.A. members.

Nation names are not stored in a database as far as I know.

The only criteria it doesn't meet for reuse, as far as I'm aware, is that it didn't CTE five years ago. It's off by a whopping sixty-three days. If I have to wait sixty-three days; fine. But I would like an actual mod to take a look at it and determine for themselves.

The answer was "no" when the site admin wrote the OP a decade ago, and it's been "no" the last 100 times the question has been asked. The answer is plainly written in the first post. No interaction with the mods is remotely necessary. No exceptions.

Stephistan was deleted over 15 years ago when things were simpler. She lacks a marker indicating she was a mod. There are multiple conditions for nation reservation, and I suspect the logic is to use the first one encountered. In Jakker's case, it's mod. In Stephistan's case, it was deletion.

That's actually a fairly large size IRL--only two nations have over 1 billion people (India and China), and the US is 700 million or so behind them. I would believe that was the basis for the limit.

Yeah, though it seems more and more nations are breaking that 1 billion glass ceiling on this site, so eventually 800 mil is going to seem quite tiny. It's the only qualification keeping me from claiming the name Minecraftia from a Former Nation with 800+ million citizens.
