I have a suggestion

I have a great suggestion 8)

how about every "homepage" of every nation has a profile page where they write down the history and information regarding their nation? and maybe like some sort of feed/news? like a wall that they can keep updating about things happening in that nation from bomb explosions, earthquakes, elections, protests...? of course allt his doesn't need to have impact on any "official" stats... just for fun. All we can do is ask people to be realistic.. they will be taken more seriously then!

Close but no... I clearly states that this is on the nations homepage, not in a forum..... so a nation profile if you like. The flag on the side and some facts, then sections you can fill.... history etc. separate from the forum.

Yes, I read your post and understood your suggestion. I'm just wondering what benefit redundancy would serve since we already have the forum I previously mentioned.

However, I can see the benefit of placing a link on a nationstate's homepage that takes a visitor to the Factbook, and I wonder why that hasn't already been implemented.

Yes that would be a good idea, easier to implement than an actual redesign of the nation's homepage...

It would have to be coded in such a way that people could only link to threads in these forums though, because otherwise the Mods would have to police it to make sure that people weren't linking to "prohibited" sites... the ones that you aren't allowed to link to in the forums...

Shouldn't be too difficult. All you need is this:
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=
pre-scripted as the beginning of the link, and then all you would need to put in would be the topic number of your Factbook thread (in my case, 114547), and you would wind up with something like this:
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=114547
To make it pretty, the site techs would want to pre-script the result to this:
