Stuck at 2% economy

Postby Ratateague » Wed Jun 29, 2011 6:31 am

My economic freedom has flatlined at exactly 2% for months now. Originally, I assumed it was just circumstance, but with some experimentation, I am now sure it's a glitch. Additionally:

Your Economy has been 0 for a while now. The nation XML data for the 29th gives these values:
Code: Select all
<FREEDOMSCORES>
 <CIVILRIGHTS>68</CIVILRIGHTS>
 <ECONOMY>0</ECONOMY>
 <POLITICALFREEDOM>76</POLITICALFREEDOM>
</FREEDOMSCORES>

That's inconsistent with the graph, which shows your Economy level dipping to 0 just today.

I have that problem with 99% economic freedom.

No matter what, my ranking in political, economic and social freedom won't increase.

It is because you can't get a better score by answering the same issue twice(while also picking the same choice)?

Not at all. It's a matter of inertia. Most issues move a score towards a particular point. If you're 99% of the way there, the effect will me minimal, perhaps even infinitesimal. Much like in real life, hitting 100% is anything is monstrously difficult.

That still doesn't explain my predicament. Don't get me wrong, if it were unstuck, it would probably be at zero again. So I can't really complain.. that's how things usually work out here. However, I have been making painstaking efforts to try and turn it around, with much damage to other freedoms and funding, to no avail.

Why are so many liberal nations having such a low economy? I mean, I got mine really high. I don't even know how I did it...

An admin will fix it when they see this thread. Hopefully shouldn't take too long.

I think it's economic strength, not economic freedom.

I'm having the same problem, except I've never said anything about it. My economy has been Imploded for as long as I can remember, at least a whole year. Ever since the graphs came into existence my economy has been at 0. I just figured I'd killed my economy so well and that's why it's stuck, but I've been trying everything to turn it around, so now I finally realize it must be a glitch. Should I make a new thread, or is here fine?

That's what I've just assumed for over a year now. My economy has always been at 0. No matter what I try to help the economy in issues, it just affects Civil Rights and Political Freedoms. Either I'm spectacular at irrevocably killing economies, or it's a bug. Is there some way to check whether my economic state is moving? Could it be in deep negative numbers so that I can't tell whether it's improving?

You look to have dug one hell of a hole, but I can't say for sure that something isn't a little broken.

So can someone help me or at least check to see if there is something broken? I'm almost sure of it. My nation is several years old and I can't even remember a time when the economy was above imploded. I've tried so many different options in repeated issues to help my economy, but nothing seems to raise it. I've been socialist with 100% tax rates, libertarian with no income tax, and so many stages in between, but all the while my economy never budged.
