I guess this is as good a place as any to make a suggestion. In the Jolt Forums, there's a small but useful feature. At the top right of each post is a little number. If you click on that number, you go to a new page which is just that one post. And more to the point, if you copy the link for that reference number, you have an easy way to direct someone to that specific post. Likewise, in a long discussion, if someone posts something that was already answered in post n, you can just reply to that person, "see post n" and leave it up to them to check it out. Or you can post the link.

So for example when Emperor Fenix asked a question, [violet] replied, "Fixed! As per previous post (somewhere)...". Now for all I know, [violet] was too busy or tired or whatever to go look up her previous post, but that's not the point. Even if she knew exactly where her other post was, she would have no easy way to direct Emperor Fenix and the rest of us to it. It's near the bottom of page 3 of 4 for me, but that depends on how people set their display settings, doesn't it?

So, how about adding reference numbers? :)

I was just being lazy. The little page icons beside post author names are links to the post; so too the titles. For example here is a post by Pure Thought.

It displays in context, not on an empty page, but there's your reference.

Sooo older nations that have been resurrected get Antiquity displayed now?
Hehe, I'm fine with that. Decided to come back here when I realised someone had made me a "historic nation" on NSWiki, which was a bit of an ego boost.
It was August 22nd 2003 back in the day.....

About the moving of threads from Jolt to here (and noting the problems with it): Can the Jolt archive already be moved? It's worth keeping.

[violet], with a few tweaks such as minor rewording in the user interface it's a overall success. NationStates as we are has finally got its own forum and the NS1 team are to be congratulated.

So if we manage to kill it with the 47th NS World Cup, do we get a prize?

Or perhaps just slapped with many a trout...

Yes, I think that is to do with the quote pyramid issue.

Yeah, apparently the mods don't want us building temples to them anymore.

It's not the size of the temple that matters... it's the QUALITY of the temple!

I just noticed the "Factbooks and National Information" area. Now that is a really good addition as that tended to clutter up II with 6 or 7 fo them being posted every few days.

Just when we get the WC47 signups and some real World Cup Discussion going, NS.net dies for an hour or so.

Told you we'd blow something up ;) :palm:

That doesn't count; that was a planned outage for our host to upgrade their power systems. :)

We'll break something sooner or later. We're just cool like that. How many other of the subforums can say they made a DB error for a single thread?! 8)

After eons away, I have finally come back and found that not only has my Region had changed [progress is good], but so had Nations States forum. So far I like it. I have no complaints whatsoever. Nice job.
