It just says that chrome does not support this file type.

Thank you, I'll be adding it to the error page. If you could provide a screenshot of the error - that'd be great.

I like this, but i wish it could give more numbers. like, my 1000 beats someone else's 1000. Yeah it happened, but how many did either side lose?

That was a feature taken out of one of the old builds. Don't worry in the future it is indeed planned to be brought back.

Yes it works, thank you. I'll be adding to the to-do-list of things to fix.

Why Java? Why couldn't you had done the project on a language that doesn't want you install crapware that just opens your browser to exploits to execute the file?

Respectfully, java is a cross-platform programming language and it's easy to port to other languages. So if you don't like it - don't download it.

Wow, didn't expect to see this.

Hey everyone, I've come back form the dead.

About the freezing after pressing Run Simulation, the issue is that I had to break it to try and debug a certain issue, but now I've figured it out. Expect it to be fixed sometime in the next few hours.

Java and Javascript are two very different things. I wrote this in Java, which is a cross-platform programming language. Java does not need a web browser to run. Javascript, however, does.

I'm just using Java right now because it's what I have the most experience in, and it's guaranteed to work across the board, as I tend to not use Windows.

Oh hey, you extracted the Jar file. You just need to download the Jar file, and if you have Java installed, execute the Jar like most other programs.

I had gotten complaints on how tedious it was to deal with, I personally liked it, but by popular demand, I had to change it. I'll find a better way of doing this.

Java is the one with more holes than Swiss cheese. Javascript is the one that you need to properly view just about any modern web page, and which, to my knowledge, is much more secure. That's what Deiorus meant.
But I'm seeing a threadjack threat. We probably should not start talking about the pros and cons of Java and JS here.
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Is this a new one? Or have you revived the older project?

New what?

NationStates Battle Simulator is a fairly new projected that was launched in March. We're having a new stable build released soon. For now the most stable build to date is 0.0.1A that runs very well. The most recent build, which is the currently broken 0.0.2A (or can be known as the one that freezes) is being discarded (due to some major issues with the code). Currently the 0.0.3A build is working and only needs a few tweaks to the code, however we want to ensure before releasing it there are no horrid bugs such as 0.0.2A had.

The build 0.0.3A is mainly taking most of 0.0.1A code and we're adding upon it.

NationStates Battle Simulator is a fairly new projected that was launched in March. We're having a new stable build released soon. For now the most stable build to date is 0.2c that runs very well. The most recent build, which is the currently broken 0.4c (or can be known as the one that freezes) is being discarded (due to some major issues with the code). Currently the 0.5b's build is working and only needs a few tweaks to the code, however we want to ensure before releasing it there are no horrid bugs such as 0.4c had.

The build 0.5b is mainly taking most of 0.3's code and finishing/adding on to it(which was not released).

Or, in simple terms, we have a older version of the program for users to download until the next version is ready.

So it is a new project then. There was another project that tried this 2-4 years back. Except it ran through batch IIRC.

Oh, NationWars? It is one of my old inspirations for making a program such as that. However, NSBS isn't based off of that as Articalla is the main developer and the ideas are coming from the roleplaying region of Audax. Good memory though!

Unless I've missed that update, would it be plausible to include things like armor, ships, and airplanes into a battle simulator
Be nice to the mods or they will delete you for saying "nigga" in a positive connotation!

RIP Roski, unjustly deleted 12 July 2016

I don't know why they say it, its not true. You're only fine if the mods like you.

Thank you and your suggestion has been noted.

I'll talk to Articalla about that later about making different battle options.

I have two errors, first off I have the "freezing error" you mentioned. Photo
Secondly, my version is either old or bugged as there is no "Home Team Advantage" option. Photo

I have downloaded the latest version of Java and clicked the link to download the jar file automatically. I proably did something wrong, can you tell me what? ;)

Version 0.0.2A was a very buggy release. All the bugs has been fixed 0.0.3A and with over a week of testing, there has been no program-breaking bugs found. Thank you for your report.
I am going to release 0.0.3A officially now, download this.
