Anniversary of War

Postby Wubdich » Wed Feb 21, 2024 5:41 pm

While it is not exactly clear when the mobilization happened - on the 24th of February 2022, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation transgressed on the borders of Ukraine, thus staring the conflict we now know as the Russian-Ukrainian War that lasts until today.

Without taking a side for either faction in this post: I want to ring the bells about the date of this years' N-Day starting on the Anniversary of the (probably currently second most) debated conflict happening in the world, that has multiple nations' populace in a stranglehold over their political allegiance.

All the while acknowledging this being much of a coincidence, this might be not the best date to start N-Day - a side- / mini-game where nations are allowed to nuke each other - something about this might either not be in good taste or propel offsite false news to spread through the lack of contexts, given that certain topics confined to NS have spread to the international, serious offsite stages before.

TL;DR for anyone who just came here:
This post is advocating for shifting the N-Day date to another day due to the anniversary of the Start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Thanks for reading and considering.

It's too late for us to move it. I also think we would not have moved it, even if this was raised further in advance. We have an Events calendar with particular times they happen (e.g. last weekends of Sept and Feb for N-Day) to ensure they are spread out over the year, and not too close to those with set dates (e.g. April Fool's, Z-Day over Halloween).
