I have submitted several maps on behalf of my region, [region-tag=]Magna Aurea[/region-tag], however, none of them actually show up when I click the "map" tab of my region.

Also, how do we endorse maps?

There should be a button the bottom of the map. If you're in the same region as the map and you are on said map, you should be able to endorse it.

I posted my map of my region over 1 day ago, but it still doesn't immediately show up when I toggle the map button on my region home page. I have to click "create a new map" to see anything at all, and then I see all the previous versions.

I'm definitely experiencing a bug, seen in a test region that when you click on the map editor this Nation Name thing is supposed to pop up. That doesn't happen for my region, not on the empty map editor nor on uploaded image. So problem is color gradient? I made my nation mono-color even if the rest of the map isn't.

EDIT: reduced to 256 colors, problem persists.

Suggestion, if the system of endorsing maps will be kept (I honestly don't think it should. I think it should be more like the appearance RO gets to set the map and what it is), it would be useful to know who is endorsing a map, like you can know which nations endorse a given other nation. Especially since the weight system is more complex then just 1 endo -> 1 point, it's really hard to grasp what 56k means in this context. Is this 10 people? 50? How many people who can endorse haven't? That sort of thing.

(Oh and PS, if map raiding were to become a thing, there's another reason why people would want to know who endorses a given map).

I will note I agree with also allowing ROs to feature on the front page a regional map of their choosing. But I feel if the ROs don't explicitly opt-out of the feature entirely (i.e. my previous suggestion) or put in a map of their own choosing on the region's front page (like what Tims suggesting), then having the current system wherein nations can endorse maps with the most endorsed map being on the regional front page is beneficial IMO to keep as a default setting. It's possible some communities may find it beneficial to have that feature around, either to allow the community to develop a map without leadership input and/or using it as a talent finding thing maybe.

Also, makes for fun map rankings in communities that have an appetite for it.

Until Regional Officers/Founders are able to manage the Maps that show up on our region, this is honestly a disgustingly clunky feature in its current form.

It's definitely a cool direction, but at present there's a lot of work it needs - with Regional Officers being able to take down, etc regional maps being priority.

In addition, this significantly slows down loadtimes. It doesn't fit regional aesthetics for a lot of places. Half the time it just crashes.

Please for the love of god just disable this clunky, botched rollout until it actually works.

If this is going to last beyond April's Fools (and I sincerely hope it does not), would it be possible to confine it to its own page, instead of cluttering up the main page? It doesn't fit aesthetically (there is little control over the map) and it seriously trips up raiding, both in making the move button less intuitive to find and slowing down pageloads for triggering.

Neither applies. You created a map version three days ago. Two days and fifteen hours ago, somebody clicked "create map" from that version.

Q: If i update the map base will it remember the tag colours or will I have to start over again?

S: Allow us to see and edit a table of #hex colours and nations tagged, change / delete / add.

S: Our map is reasonably detailed. I think overall it would be easier just to let us upload our version and non-geographically tag nations in a list is already possible in factbooks etc.

S: Drop down list of nations in region to select from.

At the moment we're already seeing joke maps that aren't maps at the top. Maybe that's fine by you guys? Idk.

I don't know if this was reported but if you look at another nation that endorsed and/or unendorsed a map using antiquity theme, it shows the entire map on their nation page.

When using Rift, or dark themes, it's just a little small map after "Nation endorsed/unendorsed a map [Small Map]" on their nation page.
