Plague of the Hybrids!

Postby Jolteonia » Sat Mar 05, 2011 10:08 pm

I'd just like a little advice from those who have encountered this issue before about what the effects might be.

The Issue

Angry farmers have taken to the streets demanding the government to act after reported sightings of strange Jolteon-like dogs eating all the crops in fields.

The Debate

1. "This unholy union should never have taken place to begin with," comments Abraham Mistletoe, an angry farmer. "The Jolteon was never meant to mate with a dog! They eat my crops, they attack my livestock and they're breeding so quickly they're swamping the environment! We can't make a living like this! You've got to give us the funds and manpower to shoot anything that comes within a mile of our property and put an end to these freaks of nature! We must wipe these creatures out now or before you know it all we'll be eating is fish."

2. "We can't just destroy these creatures!" exclaimed Freddy Falopian, owner of Jolteonia's biggest safari park. "They may look ugly to you, but I think they're just beautiful. We need to study them and understand them; think of what we could learn! These wonderful beasts may be a little harmful to the environment, but think of the people who will flock to see them! It would be an educational experience! Think of the money!"

3. "We could always just kill off all the dogs," Zeke O'Bannon of the "Keep The Species Pure" foundation whispers to you in a conversation. "The Jolteon is one of the many things our country is famous for; any perversion of its image reflects upon us all! We can't have their image spoilt by these ugly abominations! Just get the police to go around and kill them all and we can rest easy knowing our countryside is safe!

I'm leaning towards option 2, but it seems to suggest that it might harm the environment. I'm actually trying to keep my country's environment as high as possible, so if that's the case, I'll probably just dismiss. But if it's environmentally neutral and can cause an economic bump, then hey, I'm all for it. Who can tell me what the effects of each choice are?

Option 2 harms environment and doesn't change economy.

Bear in mind that its been as good as stated that effects on your stats can depend on where your stats currently are.

I recently selected an issue that gave me no stat changes at all, but wasn't too surprised as it was reinforcing an already extreme stance on one of my puppets.
editors like linguistic ambiguity more than most people

Option 1
We are not an apolcypse themed nation anymore read my factbook. I barley follow nation states stats. We are an Empire that gives civil rights and there no problem with that. We are advanced and would like anyone who wants to be friends to telegram us.

That reminds me: I remember getting this issue with a nation that has compulsory vegetarianism. ...the first option (cattle ranching and eating fish) didn't make much sense.

Anyway... Yeah, based on my results, option one is the most eco-friendly of the three. For whatever reason.
