Conserative Morality wrote:"It's not time yet" is a tactic used by reactionaries in every era. "It's not time for democracy, it's not time for capitalism, it's not time for emancipation." Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

It at least assures me that my own issues are probably not too long. <:D

There is a decent chance that they have the same text and differ only in the effect line, especially for the latter.Jutsa wrote:We still need 962.1 and 962.6... gl with those. ._.

If you think finding those is daunting, you should see what I'm dealing with on my end. There are twelve new effect lines. Four, maybe five are from an issue about gladiator games or other violent sports (that should be #964), and I'm having a hard time disentangling the rest.

Oh, those aren't that rare. I've seen all four options at least once in the last 3 days, with the most popular one having been chosen as recently as an hour and thirty-five minutes ago, plus these options have been around for a while.Jutsa wrote:If it has to do with #911, I can definitely see that if it's a not-so-frequent option.

That almost exists, by the way. I have it reliably recorded that both "cars are banned" and "cars have been banned" are effect lines that exist. I'm pretty sure the former is from #2 1, but I have no idea what's up with the latter.Ransium wrote:Oooh! #966 As You Don't Like It
The Issue
Duke @@RANDOMLASTNAME@@ of Lower @@CAPITAL@@-Upon-Tyne caused quite a stir this weekend after he had a traveling minstrel group chased out of town. While some fellow peers have accused him of being humorless, the Duke countered that the troupe was subverting his authority with their seditious acts.
The Debate
1. "That troupe's impromptu performance was scandalous," spits the irate Duke. "Caricaturing me as the villain in their little Scheherazade knock-off? The nerve of those performers! Do you think I let these thespian transients wander around my domain just to watch them humiliate our way of life? I've no obligation to provide charity to a bunch of disrespectful wretches. @@LEADER@@, forbid these flimflam singsongs and outlaw this sort of vagrancy before some smart-alecky troupe comes knocking at your door. We'll all be safer for it in the long-run."
2. "Have you no sense of perspective?" exclaims beaten and ragged minstrel @@RANDOMNAME@@, haphazardly waving a flute around. "Satire is essential for introspection! Don't be such a stuffed shirt. If you really want performers off the street, let us musicians be officially patronized by the government. Just assign a musical group to each noble family, and our melodious tunes will surely lighten the load on their noble shoulders."
3. "Isn't that what you employ oddfellows like me for?" grumbles grizzled jester Krusty @@ANIMAL@@, covered profusely in tomato stains. "Me and my mates, your musicians, clowns, acrobats, dancing poodle performers, you name it - we're smart enough not to bite the hand that feeds us. Construct a grand theatre for all to see and adore us, and we'll sing your praises loud enough to drown out the voices of petty satire."

Oh, yeah, that's just normal. The editors seem to often add no issues at all for several days, then suddenly add several new issues all at once. This is a good way to frustrate me, congratulations. But I will not be so easily beaten.Jutsa wrote:Added! Looks like my hopes for a wave of new issues came true

Or at least that an editor briefly tested an issue and then took it out of circulation.
Actually, maybe it's an issue with a bugged validity, so only the original author (who got auto-assigned it for authoring it) ever got to answer it?
I wish I had kept which nation it was from. But I don't know in advance what's going to turn out to be important and what's not worth worrying about. I really thought someone would have reported #917 by now. (I can't figure out any sort of validity - it doesn't seem to be a chain issue nor dependent to any particular policy.)That almost exists, by the way. I have it reliably recorded that both "cars are banned" and "cars have been banned" are effect lines that exist. While I happen to be sorting my effect lines by alphabet, I notice that "cars are banned from built-up areas" definitely used to be in the game (as #102 3), but hasn't been seen since my new program went online.
