Rewhew! Thank you very much - updated! :D

Keep an eye out for 848.3 and 850.4 - If CEO is in the option, then there's probably a socialist version of it as well. :P

Taking into account that the attack of the zombies is about to begin, the following changes / observations can be taken care of later. However, here they are...

Yes, I'm back!

MACROS

  • #067 could have a fixed name at description (Judas Zaius), which has yet to be confirmed.

  • #180 has a @@RANDOMNAME@@ at option 2, which requires a @@HE@@ to work properly ("I vehemently disagree," says defence lawyer @@RANDOMNAME@@, running a comb through @@HIS@@ hair and handing you @@HIS@@ business card.).

  • #300 has random names only (gender-neutral, unless proven otherwise), except for option 3 (which has no name at all).

  • #326 has an @@ANIMAL@@ at options 1 and 2 (@@ANIMAL@@ Park, rather than Rat Park). Also, the name at option 2 is a random and female (which you can confirm by looking at option 3, where the speaker refers to the crazy lady with the woolly hat).

  • #349 could have gender-fixed names for options 1 (female) and 2 (male). However, if all the names are random and gender-neutral, option 2 should have two @@HIS@@ to work properly.

  • #711 has been reported with a @@NAME@@ macro at option 3, it should be a @@RANDOMNAME@@ instead.

  • #725 has a @@CURRENCYPLURAL@@ at option 1.

  • #730 has a @@RANDOMFIRSTNAME@@ at option 3. I've got Coraline, which confirms the macro is gender-neutral.

  • #832 has random names only. I just got: Jessica Burke (referenced at option 2, which could require @@HIS@@ and @@HE@@ to work properly), Morty Head, Sydney Park and Bianca Vercingetorix. The genders have to be confirmed, except for option 3, which has a gender-neutral name.

  • #843 has a female name at description and option 2 (unless there is a @@MR@@ macro). Option 3 could have a @@RANDOMMALENAME@@, which has yet to be confirmed.

  • #846 has a @@HE@@ at option 2 (referring to the Finance Minister), all the names seem to be random and gender-neutral.

  • #847 has fixed names only.

MISSING OPTION(S) ALERT

  • #114: Reported options are 1 and 3. The second option could be a no-prisons variant for option 1.

  • #302: Reported options are 2, 3, 4 and 5. I know nothing about the validity for first option. While we're at it, I'm giving you the no-prisons variant for option 5:
    6. “Wait, this is getting out of hand!” moans Benito De Luigi, CEO and co-founder of De Luigi Bros. Pizza. “We just wanted to dethrone those smug jerks at Papa Pallocci’s, that’s all! This isn’t our fault; the real culprit is, uh... suburbia! Yeah! Those rows and rows of poorly-built, identical houses on stupid cul-de-sacs are a confusing nightmare for our delivery crews. Most people should be living in urban high-rise apartments, and I guess everyone else can save time by not commuting so much. Offer some incentives to get people to move: a month’s free rent and a bulldozer through the living room if they refuse to leave!”

(!)Name is fixed, unless I'm that wrong.

  • #324: Reported options are 1, 2 and 4. The third option could be either a no-smoking or communist variant for option 2.

  • #325: Reported options are 1, 2 and 4. The third option could be a communist variant for option 2.

  • #502: Reported options are 1, 2 and 4. The third option could be a variant for option 4, for nations with elections. Also, the name for option 4 (Mallory Johnson) seems to be fixed.

  • #583: Reported options are 1, 4 and 5. The second option could be a no-prisons variant for option 1, while the 3rd option is unclear.

  • #626: Reported options are 1, 3 and 4. The second option could be a communist variant for option 1.

  • #717: Reported options are 1, 2 and 4. The third option could be a no-violetism variant for option 2, which has yet to be confirmed.

NEW OPTIONS

  • #488: Here are the communist options (yeah, two of them!):
    4. “We’re raising a generation of natural born killers!” writes vocal party member Taylor Harishchandra in her latest Barryblog post. “Next thing you know, they’ll want to play with real guns! When will it end? Remember, people don’t kill people, guns do! Even toy guns! We need to get anything that even remotely resembles a gun out of circulation!”

    5. “Hey! That’s our jobs you’re talking about!” bemoans Karl O'Bannon, State Director of Toy Manufacture, waving around a realistic looking replica of an AK-47. “Banning our most popular toy lines would seriously damage our industry. I’d say the best way to handle this situation is a healthy fund allocation to toy production. If we were better resourced, we could up production and flood the nation with so many toy guns that no kid would even want one! Then we make them something better,” he says, letting out a long eerie laugh.

(!)Both names are random. The name at option 4 is strictly female, while the name for option 5 is strictly male, unless proven otherwise.
Please note that option 3 is missing (available for nations that have banned smoking, perhaps?) and that former 3rd option is now the 6th.

  • #689 here is the communist variant for option 2:
    3. “Don’t listen to that gum-hating buffoon,” exclaims the State Director of Oral Cohesive-Based Solutions, Minté Breff, while chewing loudly. “Banning gum will cause a tremendous uproar of unnecessary proportions! Gum can help people study and concentrate, all whilst they taste our selection of great flavours; something that the government would surely support and even subsidise! You can have my gum when you pry it out of my cold, dead mouth.”

(!)The name is fixed. I'm not sure about the gender for the names used at options 1 and 4.

VALIDITY CHECKS

  • #032 needs a check at option 3, it could be available to nations that haven't banned homosexuality.

  • #060 still needs a check at both options 3 and 4 (which has been reported recently). I just got the third option with a nation at top 90% for Social Conservatism and Religiousness, top 11% for Secularism and no religious-spending at all (notable flag: irreverence towards religion).

  • #202 needs a check at option 4. I didn't get it with a nation with private industry (as it was reported). The actual economic stats for that puppet are: 40% private industry, 1.3% state-owned industry 50% government, and 7.9% black market. I think this option is either for nations without state-owned industry or for communist nations (as it asks to privatize the military).

  • #343 needs a check at option 3. It could be only given to nations with high Scientific Advancement.

  • #413 needs a check at option 3, it could be available to nations with prisons.

  • #518 needs a check at option 2, as I'm pretty sure it's only available to capitalist nations. while the 3rd option could be the communist variant.

  • #769 needs a check at option 2, it could be only available to nations that haven't banned computers.

  • #815 has mutual exclusive options: 1 and 2, available to capitalist and communist nations, respectively.

EXTRA

  • Please take a look at Issue #064. Here's the new text for option 4:
    4. “Why don’t we just kick these unruly kids out, and force parents to home-school them?” asks Dorothy Amin, education coordinator for the @@NAME@@ First Omnimenical Church. “That way parents can stress the values they want their kids to have and give them the attention they need.”

(!)The name is random and gender-neutral, unless proven otherwise.

  • Out of curiosity, do you guys have a clue about the validity for Issue #203?

  • I have received Issue #366 with the following text for option 2 (it was the third choice, as for the source code). I think this Issue has been modified (which could mean that reported options are 1, 2 and 4). Take a look at it, as I can't confirm its validity:
    3. “It is the right of all citizens to express themselves in any way they chose,” claims free speech advocate Sierra Cullen while wearing a t-shirt that calls you a rather crude obscenity. “People should be free to dress in any uniform without fear of reprisal or punishment - and that includes wearing a uniform of the @@DEMONYMADJECTIVEINITIALS@@AF. What better way to display to the world one’s patriotism! And if you happen to get more respect or some discounts because of it, all the better. If that argument doesn’t persuade you, then maybe you should ask the Vice Admiral how he won those medals. You can bet your bottom @@CURRENCY@@ that if you criminalise this, concerned citizens will start asking serving officers that question. Do you want the military to have another public relations disaster?”

(!)The name seems to be random and gender-neutral.

  • Issue #448 has been either modified or reported wrongly. Text for option 5 looks like this:
    5. “They have it all wrong!” invokes impatient company boss Llywelyn Mansbridge, who is infamous for his misogynistic rants. “The problem isn’t just that these girls neglect their kids, but that they neglect their work as well. If an employer feels his female staff are tired-looking, they should be allowed to dismiss them from their jobs. It’s for their benefit as well as ours, we just take the decision out of their hands, so they don’t have to worry their pretty heads over it.”

(!)The name for this option should be random and male, which has yet to be confirmed.

As always, I hope this helps. If you think I've forgot anything, feel free to ask for more details :)

FINALLY: GOOD LUCK WITH THE ZOMBIES

The difference is the effect line, which may mention either "newspapers" or "focus groups", presumably depending on whether the government controls all media. I still need confirmation in which is which.

Arceus Domains wrote:#583: Reported options are 1, 4 and 5. The second option could be a no-prisons variant for option 1, while the 3rd option is unclear.
These have been reported.

They all have unique effect lines, too.

Arceus Domains wrote:#032 needs a check at option 3, it could be available to nations that haven't banned homosexuality.
Hmm, strange. I would have thought that a pretty clear "legalize gay marriage" argument for nations that don't currently have it.

Another strange one. I think restricting this to communist nations wouldn't make sense.

While I'm at it, I'm reminded a validity was also spotted on #001 some months back.

Arceus Domains wrote:#343 needs a check at option 3. It could be only given to nations with high Scientific Advancement.
Or just that haven't banned computers / the internet.

Arceus Domains wrote:#518 needs a check at option 2, as I'm pretty sure it's only available to capitalist nations. while the 3rd option could be the communist variant.
No, I'm pretty sure everyone gets option 3.

Hmm, so you're no longer abolishing schools and forcing all kids to be home-schooled, just the unruly ones. I'm very interested in the effect line for that.

Arceus Domains wrote:Out of curiosity, do you guys have a clue about the validity for Issue #203?
"The nation is poor."

Might be another one from having state-controlled media.

#600, variant of option 2 for communists:
3. "You're not just a memory - you're our future," chimes in t-shirt aficionado and head of State Social Media @@RANDOMNAME@@. "@@NAME@@ doesn't need to be reminded of its past! This won't just be a home - this will be a technological revolution! It'll house its own webservers, a television-quality livestreaming studio, and a digital personality, all powered by ethically sourced solar panels. The youth and the technophiles will adore you, from a safe distance."
Very minor change, "social media CEO" became "head of State Social Media". The rest of the options are 4-7.

Well, the good news is that I got #600 done...
the bad news is that atm, that's all I've done, and it required me to move the last option down one post.
That happened nine more times - yep, I had to go all the way until the last post.
I won't complain too much - gives me something to do while firing missiles at zombies.

(Though I must say, having every post divided up into 25 issues is definitely smoother)

Edit: Ok the same thing happened for issue 302(the second thing I undertook) - I'm just going to keep the option, name it "1&2",
and detail in italic brackets. :lol2:

Edit2: Also did that for Rise of the Machines.

Edit3: 583 (third tackle) was an easy copy/paste... except the same problem appears to have happened again...
(fortunately I only had to relocate the final issue once)

Edit4: 'Hmm, strange. I would have thought that a pretty clear "legalize gay marriage" argument for nations that don't currently have it.'
Not necessarily - if a nation doesn't even recognize homosexuality as being acceptable, then talking about legalizing marriage would be a step too far for them
- which is hardly the case for those that recognize it but don't have marriage legalized. Updated~

Final edit: Updated everything except:
067 (genders not confirmed),
180 (Is this a macro change or an entire text change?!? It looks nothing like 180.2 >.>) (still changed the name to male),
and 349+832+843 (genders not confirmed).
I already fixed 847 beforehand. ;)
Also, I'm taking a break after the macro section >_>

851 Commercial Tidings Well In Advance

The Issue

The holiday season is commonly regarded as a wonderful time of the year when families can get together, share in good times, and give each other plenty of gifts. Of course, this hasn’t gone unnoticed by the corporate sector, as many big-name companies have chosen to begin advertising their holiday-related products many months in advance. This has left many citizens confused, frustrated, and in need of your guidance.

The Debate

1.“This is ludicrous!” shouts one unhappy young adult who somehow managed to stroll into your office, waving around a “New Year’s Sale” advertisement that was issued in the month of September. “Why are they telling us about all these Violet-darned holidays so early? It’s absolute madness. Pranksgiving hasn’t even hit yet and they’re talking about Life Day like it was tomorrow! This flagrant consumerism must be stopped. I demand that you make it so companies can only have holiday-relevant advertisements and decorations during the month of the respective holiday.”

2.“Let’s not get too hasty,” states a portly, white-bearded gentleman in jolly attire who claims to be the CEO of a major toy company. “Sometimes people need to take a while to think over what kind of presents they should get for their loved ones. That’s why we find it necessary to remind them so early that the holidays are approaching. We just want to give our customers enough time to decide what to buy. You know, maybe you could help by mentioning the upcoming festivities in your speeches. Ho ho ho!”

3.“I agree that the government should stay out of this,” states Lieutenant General Castiel Levy, who dropped by your office to discuss border security. “However, there should be an exception for the holidays that are actually important, such as Military Heroes of the Holy Easter Egg Empire Day. We must mandate that all businesses devote an equal amount of attention to patriotic celebrations as they do the other holidays, like the Feast of Saint Mauve that those Violetists are always going on about. Personally, I don’t know why you’d want to celebrate a demented old lady who ate a dozen human hearts in a single day, but to each his own I suppose.”

5.“The capitalist pigs continue to show their true colors!” cries a woman wearing a hammer-and-sickle shirt and waving around a red flag. “All this blatant consumerism is brainwashing the workers into buying their horrible products months in advance. This is how they do business, by leeching off of the hard work of the laborers and pressuring them to buy, buy, buy all throughout the year, holiday or not. Some Kid, you MUST ban all capitalism to ensure that these money-grubbers will be unable to prosper except by serving the masses!”

6.“The blasphemy on display here is completely atrocious!” announces popular televangelist Indira Schwarzenegger, adorned in sequined priestly attire. “Truly, these heathenish money-changers only see Maxxmas and the other holidays as a celebration of profits. Our people are forgetting the all-important meaning of this most sacred time of the year. Let us ensure that all commercials aired during the holiday season contain very strong and prominent reminders of our glorious faith. Oh, and of course it wouldn’t hurt to include a special reminder about my own role in the Grand Design.”

Ok, I readded them... although, AD or Trotterdam, I may need you to run over those two for me in case any missing options, wrong macros, and/or rewrites were made. :?

Twice I was copy/pasting 3 at a time, but in the end only 2 made it, so the overall effective shift to the last post was only 4.

Oh, also, 759 was, along with 758, documented as 758, so I flipped out at first due to thinking that I forgot another one, but was relieved to find out that it was a simple mistake. :P

Going to wait on those last bits until I settle down from this fiasco. >.>

Surprisingly enough, the effect line for this doesn't poke fun at the implications on holidays that happen to fall on the first day of the month.

Ikr? Then again, there isn't a socialist version of Wag the Dog, which surprised me just as much. >_>

***!!!MAJOR UPDATE!!!***
...not that major...

Reorganized the list so everything post-300(haha post) is split into 20s.

I also italicized An International Incident, and got rid of the separate post for it.

I'm also considering colouring the subtitles of easter eggs and chains, but I'm not sure - plus it'd 2AM so I wouldn't do that now, regardless. :P

Er - let me know if I made any super major mess-ups.

Another pretty big followupdate™:

> Fixed issues on page 2 down to 440 in the directory section
> Moved three issues from section 2 to 3 in the directory (ironically, I think it's back to how it was before I moved the macro information to the first post some time ago)
> Colored the subtexts for easter eggs, An International Incident, The Enemy Within, and @@CAPITAL@@gate, and
> Fixed up 064, 366, and 448. Regarding 366, I suspect the validity is whether or not your nation has banned the media.

Anyhoo, I should be more-or-less done, now - I mean, aside from validity checks and unidentified macros,
not to mention how many options that remain missing. :eyebrow:

Oh, Jutsa! I regret not having answered your doubts and requests for help on time. I was ridiculously busy at work (I didn't even take part in the Z-Day... ugh). Is everything ok now? I'm not even understanding what happened to the switching-posts thing. As for Trott's updates/comments, I welcome them all, as always! We are putting together the puzzle piece by piece

Lol, I think I need to make weekly reports (shorter ones, that is). The problem is that, generally, nothing happens within the first week after my reports, while the second week gets crazy and makes me put things together again...

Maybe it's time for a break, right?

852 Brown Breeches Thanks To Speeches

The Issue

While attending a conference, you found yourself struggling to understand one of your ministers as he stuttered through his speech on the importance of public speaking for politicians. You later encountered him in a dark and slightly smelly side-corridor of the government halls, where he quietly informed you that he has glossophobia - a fear of giving speeches.

The Debate

1.“The correct response is obvious,” tuts Conan Cox, a highly renowned speech therapist. “All members of the government - yes, even you, SUPREME LEADER BOB THE BUILDER - should be forced to take classes on public speaking to improve their speech skills and help them confront their fears. I’m certain the taxpayer will appreciate the classes if it ensures that their favourite politicians can finally speak with confidence about all the important things in life, like the appallingly low wages of speech therapists!”

3.“There is an intelligent solution to this,” posits a scientific adviser of yours, Jennifer Kim. “One of Bob The Great Builder’s top laboratories has been working hard to build a new piece of technology that can alleviate all of our problems. In simple terms, it is a highly-advanced device that reads out speeches for the speaker, in their voice! All they need to do is stand there and make some nondescript mouth movements, and they’ll be absolutely fine. Now, about our funding...”

4.“Get this rabble out of the government!” exclaims resident office haranguer, Morty Robinson. “If someone cannot make a big, grand speech about their plans, then they absolutely cannot decide what is best for this nation. Show ‘em the door, and slam it as soon as they’re out - we won’t even be able to hear the buggers stammer their complaints.”

5.“I-if I could get a word in here,” meekly whispers your glossophobic minister, visibly shaken by the prior outburst. “I d-don’t think that it’s a problem, at all. If anything, th-the quiet ones always come up with the best ideas, and maybe w-w-we can just hire someone else to say what we think. At least, I th-think so, I don’t know...” He then slithers down in his chair, disappearing from view.

Maybe it's time for a break, right?

Believe me, now that I've completely redone how the issues are set up in a post,
being 20 per post instead of however many will fit, I can add with so much more ease. ;)

Also, thank you, Bob The Great Builder! :D

Edit: Keep an eye out for option 2! Lots of undiscovered options in these issues, my word.

I thought about it, but the current line seemed better.
