New issue involving protests against capitalism

Postby Warner Channel » Sun Jul 19, 2009 5:21 pm

TITLE: Consumers Hate Capitalism?

DESCRIPTION: Protesters have been really using their voices lately as they look to eliminate all capitalist traces, especially after a massive Ponzi scheme by a large investment company.

VALIDITY: Not for nations that have already banned capitalism.

[option]"The consumers have been ripped off, due to the freedoms of capitalism!", says a protester, @@RANDOMNAME@@. "We need to limit these freedoms so that this won't happen again!"
[effects]Capitalism is banned.
[stats]Economy drops to almost zero.

[option]"We need to jail these fools!", says your Minister of Finance, @@RANDOMNAME@@. "They don't know how good they have it! And in the meantime, why don't we go ahead and increase freedoms, so that they know that capitalism is the best!"
[effects]Protesters have been jailed on charges of economic dissent.
[stats]Economy increases, civil rights decrease.

[option]"No, you have it all wrong!", says a man on the street. "We need to have a trial for the man that committed these crimes! It's simple! No need for either extreme!"
[effects]The Ponzi criminal awaits trial.
[stats]Economy increases, public apathy increases.

What? No option to allow business to continue as usual? One where there is no decrease to civil rights?

Business as usual? well there is always the dissmiss button. I like this idea.

The democratically elected parliament requires a unanimous vote to actually pass legalisation and with proportional representation and the number of extremists in parliament this is near impossible.

So the monarchy effectively rules by decree. I have achieved this through answering issues in a certain way... Unfortunately I can’t remember what those issues were. That plus a little bit of RP. Anyway my point is it’s easy to have moderate to high political freedoms and still have absolute power, you just have to be creative.

Huh. That's a rather unique and, I must say, deliciously evil approach. *golfclap*
