It is left lowercase when referring to an individual organism or a biological characteristic.

I am actually staring at my computer, wondering if I'm seeing this right.


I had a lot more posts on the old NS Forum, but they didn't transfer over. I only click on the occasional new forum link out of idle curiosity these days, while waiting for other pages to load, so it's probably not going to be a regular thing unless I get laid out with a broken leg in a climbing accident or something.
