[DRAFT] All cops are bad, but criminals are worse

Postby Barinive » Fri Feb 23, 2024 6:09 am

Name: All cops are bad, but criminals are worse
Validity: Only availabe for nations with high crime, law enforcement lower than 100.
Description: The severe diminishment of the police has been great for some, and horrible for others. Civil rights activists, and criminals are enjoying it the most, while common citizens keep complaining about being unable to enjoy their daily lives in peace. Most government ministers and employees have taken sides on this issue. This has culminated to a food fight between police abolitionists and retentionists in the cafeteria of a government building, leaving a mess everywhere. You have arrived at the seen, and everyone wants your personal answer on this issue.

Option 1:
"If we don't get the police back, imagine all the things that could happen!" randomly exclaims the former minister of police, reduced to a paperwork-filing bureaucrat, throwing a tomato at the minister of taxation. "Even if it would increase taxation, it would be worth it in the long run!"
Outcome: A sudden revival of police has bought crime to a halt, as well as citizen's disposable income.
Increases law enforcement to atleast 1000, increases taxation, decreases disposable income. Removes no prisons policy.

Option 2A:
Valid for nations with capitalism policy.
The minister of taxation throws a coin at the former minister of police. "That's all that would be left of the citizens money if we suddenly revitalized the police without warning!" He barely dodges a slice of cheese. "Just let the private corporations in control of the police at this point! That would actually leave the people with a disposable income!" The minister of the economy nods at him, they both throw some peanut butter at the former minister of police.
Outcome: People often get jailed for buying the wrong brand.
Increases law enforcement to atleast 500, but decreases welfare spending by 500. Decreases taxation. Adds infamous sell swords notability.

Option 2B:
Valid for nations with socialism policy.
The minister of taxation throws a coin at the former minister of police. "That's all that would be left of the citizens money if we suddenly revitalized the police without warning!" He barely dodges a slice of cheese. "Just let the local authorities in control of the police at this point! That would actually leave the people with a disposable income!" The minister of the civil affairs nods at him, they both throw some peanut butter at the former minister of police.
Outcome: Police in one region get struggle coordinating when working with police officers from another.
Increases law enforcement to atleast 500, but decreases welfare spending by 500. Decreases taxation.

Option 3:
The defense minister has finally arrived, along with multiple of his agents. The whole room becomes silent. "If you guys are debating about the law enforcement, let me give my advice. Make the military the police. Easy solution!"
Outcome: The entire nation now lives in fear after martial law was declared.
Increases law enforcement to 1500, increases defence forces by 1000, decreases eco-friendliness by 400 to 1000.

Option 4:
The minister of alternative solution shoots a toy gun at the defense minister. Most people in the room get scared, thinking it was real.
"Let's just let the citizens be the police. Everyone will enforce the law as a community, nothing could go wrong!'
Outcome: Citizens often arrest each other as a prank.
Decrease taxation, increase weaponization, increase political freedom and civil rights sligthly.

Option 5:
"Just shut up everyone, this isn't even that important!" Yells a random bureaucrat, who came into the room after hearing all the commotion.
"Let's just stop this argument completely! Leave everyone!"
Outcome: The government hasn't changed anything.
Decrease taxation and law enforcement, increase civil rights and political freedom slightly.

First off is I've tried getting rid of the police Force is nearly if not impossible. So, you could either put the validity at low law enforcement or high crime, or both.
