The draft hasn't changed in 5 months, and there remain several points of feedback that would help but which have not been incorporated.

The only thing I don't think I see mentioned yet is that @@RELIGION@@ isn't a macro. I suspect you want @@FAITH@@. Otherwise...

See previous feedback about "fluff" in the description.

See previous feedback about possible use of validity for religiosity (or possibly for being highly primitive).

If those things get addressed, it will be easier to offer further advice.

I would look at your description and see how it would tie into it. Part of it says " housing many ancient @@DEMONYMADJECTIVE@@ stories and myths, featuring a full pantheon of colorful gods and many unique monsters." As Verdant Haven said, you could incorporate either religiousness (given they seem to be pagan/polytheistic faiths you mention) or primitiveness (or even both).

My thoughts on the validity are less about the past, and more that the current people responding to this discovery are coming at it from an extremely... specific angle.

One speaker says it's blasphemy against true religion, and must be burned.
One speaker say it should be the basis of a new true religion.
One speaker say it should be used to make LEADER the center of a cult.
One speaker approaches it rationally.

Basically, three of the four speakers are approaching it in a way that would only make sense in a nation that is extremely prone to intense religiosity. Two of those speakers are promoting actions that would go exactly nowhere or make no sense at all in a non-primitive society.

For that set of choices to make sense, it suggests that the player's nation is either very religious, very primitive, or both. You could also suggest that it be an either/or situation, where either option would qualify a nation to receive it. In the end, if an issue is accepted for editing, the editing team will assign the validities, but it's definitely helpful to have a suggestion of what the author is aiming for, and when I'm writing I find that it helps me to write my choices more clearly if I know my audience in advance.

I'm pretty sure the general rule is its necessary to assume things about @@NAME@@, but to avoid assuming things about @@LEADER@@.

No worries here - you're good as is. You specified that these particular figures are previously unknown, so regardless of which gods may or may not have been worshiped in the past, it wasn't these ones. Whether these were the old mainstream or an old fringe group isn't relevant.

I'm not sure it's necessary that the player's nation be very primitive or very religious. It seems like an advanced nation could discover an ancient library and have wacky neo-pagans lapping up the newly discovered ancient faith with their own highly inaccurate interpretations. Well-preserved ancient libraries are "finds of a lifetime," too. It makes sense to me that people would go a bit crazy over them. I like this issue and I hope to see it in the game.

EDIT: But maybe Option 2 should require some minimum religiosity or theocracy to show, because I can't imagine a secular nation listening to a surprise book-burner from a major religion.
