Due to the surprising amount of stress that comes from running a country, you’ve been feeling a little down. So, you brought in some of your most trusted Ministers to offer their advice on how to get through this.

Option 1
Your Minister of Welfare is first to offer you advice. “I suggest you see a licensed therapist right away. They can offer you healthy ways to cope and give you someone to talk through it all. Until then, I suggest some nice meditation. And you are free to talk to me if you need anything.”

Your Minister of Entertainment is next to offer his advice, all the while making dramatic hand gestures. “@@LEADER@@, what you need is a good laugh. They say laughter is the best medicine, so I say we should take that saying literally and in the wrong context. I think you and I should go out to a comedy club. I promise that after Friday night, you’ll be all better. And don’t worry, I’ll pay.” He bows and leaves the room dramatically.

Your Minister of Pharmaceutics steps up to your desk, wearing her standard white lab coat and carrying a bottle of pills. “Depression? I have just the thing for that. This over-the-counter medicine, for example. Just take one of these babies every day, and you’ll be feeling better in no time! Of course, side affects may include vomiting, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, diarrhea, enlarged liver, and death. But that’s not that bad.”

The Minister of Tourism raises his hand to get your attention, while reclining in his chair and wearing a Hawaiian shirt. “Why not just take a day off, Y’know. Go on vacation, get a chance to explore our many luxurious beaches. That’ll be sure to lift anyone’s spirits! So my advice is you take a few days off and go on a holiday. You’ll just have to relinquish power to the next person in line while your gone, but surely a national emergency won’t happen while you’re away.”

“Oh, Leady-Weady’s sad.” Mocks your Minister of War, who always seems to crop up at your meetings. “@@LEADER@@, you need to stop being a sissy and stop imagining it! Who the hell cares if you’re sad! You’re the leader of the leader of our great @@TYPE! Suck it up and get back to work! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m late to my weekly hospital visit.”

The @@DEMONYMADJECTIVE@@ government is known for telling drowning people to “just breathe”

Your longstanding political rival, @@RANDOMNAME@@, who you assume snuck in through a window, speaks up. “@@LEADER@@, everyone knows that eating jun- err..good tasting food makes them feel better. I suggest you drink a lot of alcohol, eat all of this great tasting food I brought you,” he gestures towards the box of cakes, cookies, and chocolate @@ANIMAL@@s @@HE@@ set down next to your desk. “And do nothing but watch tv all day. You’ll be feeling better in no time!” @@HE@@ looks at you with a devious grin, then walks out of the room. Once the door closes, you swear you can hear @@HIM@@ cackling.

With all my respect for good writing I feel like this ingresses upon the player autonomy rule. Telling that the leader “feels down” is what specifically breaks said rule. Perhaps, I roleplay my leader as someone who makes his rule as fun as possible for themselves.

Well, seeing that everyone can suffer from depression (and it doesn’t necessarily correlate to the amount of fun you may be having), it can apply to pretty much every leader. As for what you would do, I would guess you’d choose either option 2 or 5

Your leader having depression would be better off be roleplayed or whatever. I'm also not sure if it fits any niche for new issues given there's one dealing with Leader's workload. Besides, couldn't they already have access to state healthcare and mental health resources?
