[H] How to make a good issue title?

Postby Random Country 453632 » Fri Oct 29, 2021 6:31 am

So I've seen many people drafting their issue drafts, and most of them get lots of feedback. They also have catchy title names, too! Thing is, my issue draft has a bland title and isn't really getting attention. So, yeah. Does anyone have tips on how to make a good title for a draft?

The title of the issue I wrote actually emerged while I was writing the issue, so it can sometimes be better to write the issue first and then think of a title, so you don't fall into the trap of feeling constrained by a certain title when developing ideas in your issue.

Same, actually, but when I decided to change it to something catchier for more feedback, uh... I couldn't think of anything catchy.

Make it something that tells what the issue is about, and add some humor to it.

Your title doesn't need to be too clever, it can be as simple as a play on words.

For reference here is the issue I wrote: https://nsindex.net/wiki/NationStates_Issue_No._1202

The title is relatively unimportant when it comes to deciding whether an issue gets edited or not. Of course, a great title helps, and makes your submission stand out, but don't worry about it too much.
