2. "Maybe it is time to consider changing our policies." Says one of your rather progressive aides, @@RANDOMNAME@@. "If we give the masses democracy and capitalism, we can stop protests, police violence, and gain more legitimacy among the world."

Ach, I'm afraid we already have #359 "Got Democracy" which deals with this very premise.

Not sure if this is your first draft, but don't give up! In future, you can run issue ideas past The Writers' Block - the experienced members of Got Issues over there can tell you if your idea has already been done (or not) so you don't end up writing a whole draft only to find that it's too similar to an existing issue. It's not compulsory, but I definitely find it useful. There's also a searchable list of all existing issues here which is another helpful resource.
