My civil rights are now some, I want to make them higher, it was due to dress code for military, I just wanted them to still wear camaflouge :(
How do I make it higher I'm not trying to be evil
Also can you add a 'change answer" system because I could really use that

The reason why is because I did some stupid bans that I REGRET
(possession of tomato seeds with intent to garden is a criminal offence & environmental protestors are being rounded up and taken away in sinister black vans as a massive land development campaign gets underway)

If you regret previous issue answers, the only way to revert them is wait for another issue on the same topic to show up. I don't think a feature to undo or change answers will be added, because if you were allowed to do that as many times as you want, people would just go by trial and error and always pick the best answer for their stats. That would kill the fun of answering issues.

There are numerous issues that have options which lead to civil rights increasing. Whenever an issue appears about whether to ban a book or allow publication, choose the latter. Tolerating any and all speech, accepting gay marriages, allowing gun ownership, allowing various drugs and smoking in public places, tolerating public nudity, tolerating cannibalism, not requiring mandatory vaccinations, and such typically increase civil rights. You can have a reasonably high level of civil rights without accepting every single of those, if you prefer to choose some and reject others.

If you want to see possible stat changes on issues, this website is very helpful:

http://www.mwq.dds.nl/ns/results/

There are many variables and factors that affect the exact changes on a specific nation. Although the particulars of a given nation means that surprising results can happen, that site's information is extremely useful when trying to understand what impacts options will have.

One more thing, if you use the website, check the other issue pages like this one:

https://nsindex.net/wiki/NationStates_Issue_No._207

The reason you would want to do that is to make sure not to accidentally select an unintended option. Some nations are not eligible for certain options, and there can be multiple versions (such as capitalist and socialist). By checking the effect lines on both pages and matching it with option text, that problem can be avoided.

Or you can go to

Or try writing a new issue (probably drafting it in this forum) with at least one option that should have the desired effect: If this is accepted into the game then you will receive it immediately, with no need to wait any longer than that takes. ;)

Keep in mind, though, that "I want to raise this stat" is not a particularly good premise for an issue.

Practically, something basic like "raising civil rights" is done by enough existing issues that it's far easier to wait for one of those than to come up with a brand-new way of doing it that's narratively meaningful enough to get accepted.

That would make the game a lot more fun. Why not let people see what the stat effects would be before choosing?

That's what trotterdam's website is for. Hate to say it,, but some people like spoiling issues and some people don't.

I don't like the idea of spoiling the issues, in order to pick the correct one for the desired result.
However, being able to change an answer that I didn't read correctly or realized wasn't the one I wanted, would be a helpful addition to the game. Glad to know that certain issues can be revisited with different wordings and then over right the previous choice.
