[ABANDONED] Neocachers searching for trouble?

Postby Murelia » Fri Jul 16, 2021 6:31 am

This is my second issue draft, so please tell me where I can improve on. This issue is based of the game Geocaching. The issue is only valid for nations who do not have the 'no internet' policy. The options are valid for all nations though.

Description: Recently, the game Neocaching has become very popular. Neocaching is a game where people hide boxes with a logbook in places around the world and put the location on the Neocaching website. Others can then find the Neocache and write their name in the logbook. About a week ago someone hid a Neocache in @@ANIMAL@@ Park, a park in @@CAPITAL@@. Many Neocachers have come to find the Neocache, littering and trampling the plants in the park as a result.

Option 1: "This is unacceptable!" shouts gardener @@RANDOMNAME@@, who is responsible for caring for the plants in @@ANIMAL@@ Park, while threatening you with a hedge trimmer. "I have to do twice as much work and I'm not even getting paid more! Remove that Neocache, or even better, ban the entire game!"

Fallout: attempts at hiding a Neocache in @@NAME@@ result in a jail sentence

Option 2: "There might be some plants trampled, but the benefit is greater," says Neocacher @@RANDOMNAME@@, while waving with a plushie of signal @@ANIMAL@@, the mascot of Neocaching. "If a Neocache is hidden at a mall or touristic location, people might visit that location after they find the Neocache. So pay people to hide Neocaches there and see the money flow in!"

Fallout: government officials spend their time by hiding Neocaches at shopping malls

Option 3: "I have the solution," says city planner @@RANDOMNAME@@, while holding a sign saying 'Do not place Neocaches'. "Place these signs in @@DEMONYMADJECTIVE@@ parks so people know not to place Neocaches there. And like that, problem solved."

Fallout: @@DEMONYMADJECTIVE@@ parks are filled with signs saying 'Do not place Neocaches'

Why is this a national issue? I'm sure there are more environmental threats to a national park (illegal logging, illegal mining, poaching, climate change, air pollution) than just people trying to find a geocache. Besides, it's not that different from regular recreational activities in national parks?

All of these options are rather bare and have to be expanded upon. Option 3 is essentially the same as a dismiss option only with a few extra steps.

With your current structure, I don't think this is a viable issue, especially not with the topic at hand. I also see some duplication with another issue about someone hiding a treasure chest and people are hunting for it (Issue 921).
In solidarity with Ukraine, I will be censoring the letters Z and V from my signature. This is -ery much so a big change, but it should be a -ery positi-e one. -olodymyr -elensky and A-o- continue to fight for Ukraine while the Russians are still trying to e-entually make their way to Kharki-, -apori-h-hia, and Kry-yi Rih, but that will take time as they are concentrated in areas like Bakhmut, -uledar, and other areas in Donetsk. We will see Shakhtar play in the Europa League but Dynamo Kyi- already got eliminated. Shakhtar managed to play well against Florentino Pere-'s Real Madrid who feature superstars like -inicius, Ben-ema, Car-ajal, and -al-erde. Some prominent Ukrainian players that got big transfers elsewhere include Oleksander -inchenko, Illya -abarnyi, and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Good points, I will abandon the draft and start writing a new issue.
