I have already stated that I would like to withdraw as co-author because I do not want to continue working on this draft, and personally would prefer to abandon it. I don't want to force you to abandon it, so I would like to give you full authorship over it instead. I hope to count on your understanding

So long as any of the text in the final submission is yours, you qualify as a co-author, even if you didn't stick with the drafting process to the end.
