It seems fairly unlikely that a museum would actually apply a modern coating of paint on top of an ancient statue (which would destroy its authenticity as an antique), rather than making a replica of the statue and painting that.

A solid, but colorless marble statue of the founder of @@NAME@@ has been found and has been dated to around the time of their rise to power


Perhaps consider rephrasing this to "A solid, but colorless marble statue of @@NAME@@'s original founder has been discovered, dating back to the time they rose to power".

@@DEMONYMADJECTIVE@@ parks have suspiciously similar statues


Consider adding "colored" between "similar" and "statues".

painting priceless statues are a common school project


Change "are" to "is".
