Change maternity leave to parent leave

Hi everyone!

I'm pretty sure some time ago I got an issue where I specifically selected both mothers and fathers to get leave, however it still says "maternity leave" on my policies. We live in an era where equality is less of a mirage and more the obvious path it should have always been, so let's change that up shall we? :) Please!

Of note is that while some / most of the issues are taken from RL, you have to realise that not all the nations have homosexuality (and marriage) legal. So, I suppose it depends on what kind of a nation it is, and which issue you are talking about.

Did you still get maternity leave despite having the policy "Marriage Equality - Citizens of the same sex may marry" ?

And more importantly, which issue are you specifically talking about? A good percentage of the issues have different variations of the same choice.

A good example is this Issue, Get a Life:

#928: Get A Life [The Free Joy State; ed: Nation of Quebec]

The Issue
Some time ago, Skandilundian doctors helped a woman give birth to @@RANDOMFIRSTNAME@@, the first baby conceived by in vitro fertilisation in @@REGION@@. As Alejandro reaches the age of majority, new research reveals that an increasing number of Skandilundian babies are born as a result of the medical technique. The ensuing debate about IVF’s place in @@NAME@@ comes to a head when you attend a ribbon-cutting at a new baby boutique in downtown @@CAPITAL@@.

The Debate
*1. “I’ve yearned for a baby for so long,” breathes Hera @@RANDOMLASTNAME@@, as she holds a pair of cream bootees against her flat stomach. “My own child to nurture, and raise into a good person and citizen of this country. I can support this child myself, so why shouldn’t I? In Skandilund, one in every ten babies is now born to an elective single mother. Why should @@NAME@@ deny parenthood to loving and capable people, just because they haven’t found the right spouse? Fund this miracle, for all would-be parents of @@NAME@@, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or marital status.” [Homosexuality is legal]

*2. “I’ve yearned for a baby for so long,” breathes @@RANDOMFEMALENAME@@, as she holds a pair of cream bootees against her flat stomach. “My own child to nurture, and raise into a good person and citizen of this country. I can support this child myself, so why shouldn’t I? In Skandilund, ten percent of babies have an elective single mother and twice that have two parents of the same sex. Why should @@NAME@@ deny the joys of love and parenthood to anyone, just because they don’t conform to someone else’s narrow idea of a family? Fund this miracle, for all would-be parents of @@NAME@@, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or marital status. And, on that subject, isn’t it time to finally get rid of the outdated laws that criminalize homosexuality?” [Homosexuality is illegal]

Though for your case, seems to me like you are talking about "Time for Paternity Leave, Says Dads", Issue 304.

That, and I might have missed the "Policy" spelled in huge letters and I was rambling. :P

Sorry I don't remember it was a long time ago. Is there a policy change from maternity leave to parent leave in any of these cases?
